Vidya Bhawan Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Siwan: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Vidya Bhawan Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Siwan came into existence in 1977. It is a constituent college in Bihar that aims to provide quality education to women within its campus spanning 7 acres. UG courses are B.Sc and BA—full-time three-year courses. The student-teacher ratio is excellent, with a total student enrolment of 1,666 and faculty strength of 23, guaranteeing the right kind of personal attention to students.

The college has made an earnest endeavour to avail most of the facilities needed for the all-round development of its students. The library—one of the important centres for academic resources—stocks more than 3,896 books. It is updated with new publications and journals regularly on the recommendations from the departments. The college also offers a small reading room facility to the students and teachers with a congenial atmosphere meant for study and research. A playground is there on the campus for outdoor sports meant for the sports-loving students. A large hall for indoor sports is under construction with financial assistance from UGC. The fast developments in the field of technology have not bypassed the institution either, with 20 computers, one laptop, printers, scanners, and internet connectivity in most of the departments. LCDs in the Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry departments further supplement the teaching-learning process.

Vidya Bhawan Mahila Mahavidyalaya offers two major undergraduate courses to students: B.Sc. and BA. The course duration for both of these is three years, with a full-time study mode. The aim of women's education is highly reflected in the college by providing opportunities to female students so that they can pursue higher education in science and arts streams.
