Vidya Sagar Polytechnic is situated in Sangrur, Punjab, which was set up in the year of 2008 to provide a platform to young generation for fulfilling their dreams of being a good engineer. Located at Daulatpur Road just beside Cambridge School, this is co-educational institute which provides several diploma courses in different fields of engineering. The total student enrolment in Vidya Sagar Polytechnic is 20 and the faculty strength of the college is 37 thus giving the college a personalised setting. The institute is affiliated which holds the goal of providing effective technical education and training of students for meeting the hardship of a growing technological world.

Every student of Vidya Sagar Polytechnic and every faculty member present in the campus has the amenities that help supporting students’ academic and personal needs. Physics lab, chemistry lab, electrical lab, electronics lab and computer science lab in the institute are well equipped. These labs contain the best practical kits and manuals that are useful for the students because through it, the students of different engineering disciplines are aware of their project work skills. One of the special attraction of the college is the IT facilities. The college has set up a computer centre with one computer per student and high speed internet facility. The central library thus attracts those looking for a calm atmosphere to study and added to the library is a compendium of technical and reference books, periodicals and magazines in the fields of engineering as well general knowledge. 

Apart from academic facilities, Vidya Sagar Polytechnic has many facilities for providing a good campus life. The institute offer a hostels for boys and girls and has the capacity to accommodate one hundred and fifty students each. These hostels include requirements such as television halls, desert coolers, reading halls and ensure availability of water throughout the day and night. For sportive people, the college has a large playground with volley ball, badminton, cricket ground and 200 meters athletic track. Boys have also the indoor games facilities. There is a hygienic canteen service at the campus also there is a shop for books and stationery at campus.

Vidya Sagar Polytechnic has five diploma courses offered as full time and each of them takes three years of duration. These are Diploma in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. Each course aims at developing proficient professional in the area of his/her choice and where possible has theoretical and practical components. The institute has 20 students which means that the institute has a good number of students which in turn gives a good ratio of student to faculty which will help any student who needs some guidance.
