Vidyavardhini's Annasaheb Vartak College of Arts, Kedarnath Malhotra College of Commerce, and E.S. Andrades College of Science, Palghar, commonly referred to as AVC, is one of the glorious institutions of learning in 1970. Situated at Vasai Road, Maharashtra, this college is affiliated with a campus spread over 7 acres. The institute has received the seal of approval from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, NAAC referring to its commitment to quality education. With 14 courses from 7 degree programmes, the AVC serves a population of 2,964 students taught by the dedicated efforts of 103 faculty members. The college offers specialisations in arts, commerce, and sciences to facilitate the growth of students, both academically and personally.
Vidyavardhini's Annasaheb Vartak College of Arts facilities are well-developed to supplement the learning process. The college library, established together with the institution in 1971, underwent a metamorphosis as it grew to respond to the increasing needs of the students and faculty. It began on the third floor but now occupies a spacious 4000 sq. ft area on the ground floor. Some of the unique campus features in these laboratories are well-equipped with the availability of special ones in the name of Botany, Zoology, and research work that run from the early morning till the evening to accommodate practical sessions. In addition to that, in terms of information technology education, this college carries an excellent IT infrastructure with around 100 desktops in a Local Area Network as students are exposed to state-of-the-art computing resources.
The institute thus offers a total of 14 courses that comprise undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Such is the case of full-time arts, commerce, and science degrees offered with specialisations like B.Sc in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Biotechnology. The admission process at AVC is largely merit-based, and marks in the HSC or equivalent examination are the core of the process. Admission to undergraduate courses like B.Sc is strictly based on merit, and similar and especially specific courses, such as B.Sc in Computer Science and Biotechnology, too have the same procedure. For the postgraduate courses, such as M.Sc, aggregate merit-based marks in the qualifying exam are important for admission. The college follows government prescribed reservation criteria during admission. This college offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses under arts, commerce, and science disciplines. It is uses merit-based admissions for most courses. AVC's admission procedure is designed to select deserving candidates based on their academic performance in the qualifying examinations.
AVC usually admits after the declaration of results of Higher Secondary Certificate or similar examination. The marks obtained in HSC Examination are the basic criteria for college students to be admitted to undergraduate programmes. Postgraduate admissions are based on aggregate marks obtained in the relevant qualifying degree. The college keeps the government reserves policies open during the process of admissions and thus tries to accord equal opportunity to all categories of students.

Degree wise Admission Process
B.Sc: AVC provides various B.Sc courses. These include Computer Science, Information Technology, and Biotechnology. The admission to these courses strictly occurs based on merit, meaning marks acquired in the HSC examination. B.Sc Computer Science has an intake of 60, and B Sc Information Technology has an intake of 120. B Sc Biotechnology has an intake of 35.
B.Com: AVC provides a regular B.Com course along with more focused ones such as B.Com Banking and Insurance (Self-Finance). Admission is based on the merit list prepared by using HSC marks. B.Com Banking and Insurance has an intake of 120 seats.
BA: AVC provides Bachelor of Arts programs in various subjects. The admission process is strictly merit-based that is considered by the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
BMS: The Bachelor of Management Studies (Self-Finance) program has an intake of 120 seats. Admission is based on the merit list prepared from HSC scores.
M.Sc: The college offers M.Sc programs in Computer Science and Information Technology, each with an intake of 20 seats. Admission is based on the aggregate marks in the qualifying bachelor's degree.
M.Com: AVC offers an M.Com course in Advanced Accountancy with 60 seats. The admission process is based on marks secured in the B.Com or equivalent degree.
MA: The college offers MA courses in History with 100 seats, Economics with 60 seats, and Marathi with 60 seats. Admission is based on the performance in the relevant bachelor's degree.
Ph.D: AVC also offers postgraduate courses like Ph.D. in Economics (8 seats) and Zoology (10 seats). Ph.D programs' admission procedure could include entrance tests and interviews along with the existing process.
College infrastructure has all the necessary facilities and equipments.College has well maintained Library,Hygiene in the college canteen is maintained always! There is a separate study room for all the students who wish to study from their notes.
Yes, my college has good infrastructure, facility and equipments. The classrooms, labora,libraries, sports centers and hostels are well maintained and the food was made with all hygiene measures. The space was good and neat
Yes the infrastructure of this college is commendable......as I was a BA student we hd bench desk n a blackboard..not sure whether they hv made the smart board now ...n they hd great canteens n the premises was neat n clean.
