Vidyavardhini's Annasaheb Vartak College of Arts, Kedarnath Malhotra College of Commerce, and E.S. Andrades College of Science, Palghar, commonly referred to as AVC, is one of the glorious institutions of learning in 1970. Situated at Vasai Road, Maharashtra, this college is affiliated with an enormous sprawling campus spread over 7 acres. The institute has received the seal of approval from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, NAAC referring to its commitment to quality education. With 14 courses from 7 degree programs, the AVC serves a population of 2,964 students taught by the dedicated efforts of 103 faculty members. The college offers specializations in arts, commerce, and sciences to facilitate the growth of students, both academically and personally. 

The college facilities are well-developed to supplement the learning process. The college library, established together with the institution in 1971, underwent a metamorphosis as it grew to respond to the increasing needs of the students and faculty. It began on the third floor but now occupies a spacious 4000 sq. ft area on the ground floor. Some of the unique campus features in these laboratories are well-equipped with the availability of special ones in the name of Botany, Zoology, and research work that run from the early morning till the evening to accommodate practical sessions. In addition to that, in terms of information technology education, this college carries an excellent IT infrastructure with around 100 desktops in a Local Area Network as students are exposed to state-of-the-art computing resources. 

The institute thus offers a total of 14 courses programs that comprise undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Such is the case of full-time arts, commerce, and science degrees offered with specialisations like B.Sc in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Biotechnology. The college also imparts post-graduate courses, including M.Sc in Computer Science and Information Technology besides M.Com and MA programs in different streams. Total student intake capacity is around 2,964 that justifies the massive teaching heights possessed by this institute.

The admission process at AVC is largely merit-based, and marks in the HSC or equivalent examination are the core of the process. Admission to undergraduate courses like B.Sc is strictly based on merit, and similar and especially specific courses, such as B.Sc in Computer Science and Biotechnology, too have the same procedure. For the postgraduate courses, such as M.Sc, aggregate merit-based marks in the qualifying exam are important for admission. The college follows government prescribed reservation criteria during admission. There is a tight-knit network of the alumnus with a strong alumni association that relates, hence binding its alumni into the community and continued association with the past students.
