Viharilal College of Education, Kolkata was established in the year 2009. It is one of the affiliated colleges in Alipur, Kolkata, West Bengal. It is a Co-Educational, NCTE-approved institution, especially for teacher education. The campus sprawls over a compact 4 acres of land with an ambience dedicated to learning. Viharilal College of Education has a total enrolment of 200 students and 11 faculty members who give individualized attention to all its students. 

There are quite a number of facilities aimed at enriching the learning experiences for its students. An auditorium acts as a base for the academic and cultural meetings of the students, hence providing a platform for events and seminars. The library, which is fully equipped with various educational materials with appropriate studying facilities, is very helpful to the students. Viharilal College of Education has only its B.Ed.course with full-time course duration of two years. It is because of this focused approach that the institute can commit all its resources and expertise to the delivery of quality teacher education. 

Admission to Viharilal College of Education will be strictly based on merit, formulated under the policies of the state government, Union Territory administration, and affiliated University.Selection of the students will be done in accordance with the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. In most of the cases, the undergraduate qualifying degree will also be considered for the selection.
