Vijaya Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences for Women (VIPW) is a pioneering pharmacy education college among the few colleges of Andhra Pradesh. Established in the year 2009, in the historical city of Vijayawada, in the name of VIPW, it is a women's affiliated college under Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, with an aim to provide qualitative pharmaceutical education. Admission procedure in VIPW is mostly entrance-based. Admission to B.Pharma and Pharma.D programs will be made through the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test. Admission to 2nd year of B.Pharma is done through lateral engineering entry through the Engineering Common Entrance Test. Admission to various postgraduate programs like M.Pharma will be done according to the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test conducted by the institute or Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test. The Pharma.D Post Baccalaureate course also accepts AP PGECET scores for admission. VIPW has provisions for scholarship opportunities, and more than 50 percent of the undergraduate students are provided reimbursement.

M.Pharma students should be a degree holder in B.Pharma from a known institution. Pharm.D needs 10+2 with Biology or Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, whereas Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate can be done by B.Pharma graduates.
Application Process
VIPW application process is different for different courses:
For Pharm.D and B.Pharma:
1. Appear and get qualified for the AP EAMCET exam.
2. Apply to the centralized counseling procedure by Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).
3. Select VIPW and course of interest while appearing in counseling.
4. If selected for a seat, report to VIPW for verification of documents and admission procedure.
For Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate and M.Pharma:
1. Pass the GPAT or AP PGECET examination.
2. Complete the application via the central admission procedure for PG courses available in Andhra Pradesh.
3. Undergo the counseling procedure, stating VIPW as the first preference institution.
4. Upon joining, undergo the admission process at VIPW, such as verification of documents and fee payment.
For Lateral Entry to B.Pharma:
1. Clear the ECET examination.
2. Undergo the lateral entry counseling procedure.
3. After being allotted a seat, obtain the admission formalities from VIPW.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Pharma: The 4-year B.Pharma programme in VIPW is admitted based on ranks in AP EAMCET. The institute intake for the programme is approved at 100. Lateral entry to 2nd year of B.Pharma can be gained through Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET).
M.Pharma: VIPW provides M.Pharma courses in three specializations, namely Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutical Analysis. Admission is done based on GPAT or AP PGECET scores. Counselling for seat allotment is held as part of the admission procedure.
Pharm.D: The 6-year Pharm.D course takes candidates based on their AP EAMCET ranks. VIPW has a sanctioned intake of 30 seats for the course. The course includes both class room training and extensive practical experience.
Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate: The 3-year course is meant for students of B.Pharma. The admissions are through AP PGECET with a sanctioned intake of 10 seats. The course provides advanced pharmaceutical learning and research experience.
