VIK Development and Learning Institute’s Vikrant Institute of Business Management (VIBM), was set-up in the year 2014 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. This AICTE affiliated college, which is barely five years old, has already proved as a worthy contender in management education. Located at the end of A.B. Road at the following address, VIBM has a good learning environment owing to its location beside the Veterinary College. The institute for a total of 360 intakes students’ faculties a total of 18 a student faculty ratio is secured, and adequate quality education for students is provided.

Some of the facilities available in VIBM include; A number of other professionally equipped modern learning facilities that facilitate rich student learning experiences. This has made it convenient to access online resources in the college since the Institute has a wireless friendly environment. The authorised library facility being an integral part of scholastic endeavours is replete with an exhaustive assortment of systematic literature, national and international journals, periodicals and business reports from most prominent corporate entities. It also has a distinct reading area, therefore making it easier for students to get an ideal study room. In terms of extracurricular activities, VIBM provides the opportunity to attend sport facilities and a gym for sport workout and health improving. The institute also has a functionality of an auditorium in terms of events and seminars hence enhancing campus life. In order to generate convenience for the students and the staff, VIBM has the provision of transport facilities. The institute is also in the process of putting up well furnished modern hostels for boys and girls within the university with single and multiple occupancy.

Currently, VIBM provides only one major programme – the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). This is a two-year full- time programme with approved intake capacity of one hundred and eighty seats. This paper seeks to examine the PGDM course offered at VIBM with an aim of establishing its effectiveness towards preparing the student with adequate skills and knowledge to enable them to undertake the challenging business management world. Although at the moment the institute offers only this particular course, this shows that the institute has obligations in regards to education in the sphere of management studies.

VIBM has a well developed system of admission, which takes into account several tests at the national level.
