Viswabharathi Medical College and General Hospital provides various sorts of medical courses at the undergraduate level and postgraduate level. The prime course of the institute is the undergraduate level program in MBBS, for which it has an intake capacity of 150 students. The college also offers 18 more postgraduate programmes, viz., MD: Anaesthesiology, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, and MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. All the courses are of full-time duration with the MBBS course being of 6 years' duration and the postgraduate courses of a 3-year duration.

The eligibility criteria for the admission process in Viswabharathi Medical College and General Hospital and other medical colleges in India is based on the guidelines set by the national regulatory body. For MBBS, the Government of India makes the admissions through its National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), passed individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English in the qualifying examination at least with 50% marks in the subjects taken together (40% for SC/ST and OBC). Admissions to the postgraduate programs are based on the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for Postgraduates. Further, the college admits NEET scores at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, hence standardizing admissions.
