Vivekanand Education Society's College of Law, Mumbai, was established in the year 2009 and holds its position among the highly reputed legal institutions in Chembur, Mumbai. Vivekanand Education Society's College of Law is equipped with a number of facilities to improve the learning experience of a student. Among them, the library is the most important facility; it has been named by many as the reservoir for law students. Vivekanand Education Society's College of Law (VESCL), is one of the premier institutions for legal education in Chembur, Mumbai. The college follows a highly competitive and rigorous admission process that has been designed to select promising students for various law programs. VESCL is affiliated with the University of Mumbai and licensed by the Bar Council of India to ensure high-quality legal education.

The admission process of VESCL generally commences during the months following the MH CET Law. The main entrance exam the college accepts for undergraduate courses is MH CET Law, which takes place in March usually, and varies according to dates each year. The date for this academic year will be on 19-20th March 2025.

For the undergraduate programs, the five-year integrated BLS LLB (Bachelor of Legal Science and Bachelor of Laws) and the three-year LLB course, admission is made based on qualifying for the MH CET Law examination. Scores in the MH CET Law examination form an important consideration in the process of admission to the college in order to determine students who have the strong aptitude for legal studies.

Postgraduate admissions for the two-year LLM programs in Constitutional Law and Criminology are made separately, which may include consideration of the candidates' academic performance in their undergraduate law degree and other relevant criteria set by the University of Mumbai.

Application form varies for different courses:

Steps to apply for the course:

  1. One needs to get registered and take MH CET Law examination conducted by State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra.
  2. After results are declared in MH CET Law examination, candidates eligible can apply to VESCL through CAP- centralized admission process conducted by state.
  3. Fill up the online application form through the official CAP portal. Fill in all the personal and academic details correctly.
  4. Attach all documents such as MH CET Law score card, 10th and 12th mark sheets, domicile certificate if necessary, and category certificates if necessary.
  5. Pay the application fee fixed by the CAP authorities.
  6. Counselling procedure includes process of verification document and seat allocation upon MH CET rank in Law and other conditions,
  7. Candidate will attend final admission procedure from the college; this may comprise payment of dues and submitting papers for allotted VESCL. For LLM course: (Two specializations such as Constitutional law and Criminology):

Step 1 Verification of notification over official website or University of Mumbai and VESCL.

2. Download the application form from the college website or collect it from the college office.

3. Fill up the application form with all the correct details about your educational background and other required information.

4. Submit the completed application form along with all the necessary documents, including LLB degree certificate and mark sheets, graduation certificate, and other relevant certificates.

5. Pay the application fee as specified by the college.

6. Appear for any entrance test or interview, when conducted by the University of Mumbai or VESCL, for the LLM programs.

7. Complete the admission process, submit originals and pay all dues for admission in case selected

Degree wise Admission Process

BLS LLB: VESCL offers five-year integrated BLS LLB. Admission to the program is based on merit in the MH CET Law exam. The candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from any recognized board are eligible for admission. Counseling and seat allotment are the criteria for admission.

LLB: The three-year LLB program is similar to the BLS LLB program in terms of admission process. Candidates need to qualify in the MH CET Law examination. This program is for graduates from any discipline who want to pursue a career in law.

LLM in Constitutional Law The VESCL offers an LLM in Constitutional Law with a total intake of 30 seats in two years. Admission to the course is carried out strictly following the guidelines by the University of Mumbai, whereby admission can also be made strictly on the performance of the candidates in their LLB degree along with other similar criteria.

LLM Criminology: The two-year program has an intake of 30 seats. The admission process is as per the guidelines of the University of Mumbai for postgraduate law admissions.

College Infrastructure

There's wifi, ac, moot court so infrastructure is good. The college premises are clean and hygienic, there's a ground to play, there's also a canteen, a lavish auditorium(shared by us and commerce section)

The college infrastructure is decent the places are hygienic the campus isn't huge the field is just fine the labs have sufficient systems and high speed internet there are projectors installed in most of the classes

Vivekanand Education Society's College of Law, Mumbai is the Law college of University of Mumbai. It offers only two courses of Law one is LLB which is of 3 years duration and another one is an integrated course of BLS LLB of 5 years duration and if you want to take admission in any of the above mentioned course than you have to appear for an entrance test. You have to appear for MHCET Law because without the valid result of MHCET Law you will not be able to get admission in the aforesaid college, so you have to appear for MHT CET and should score good marks.
