Vivekanand Institute of Management and Technology, Etawah: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Vivekanand Institute of Management and Technology, Etawah (VIMT) was established in 2008 under self-financed scheme. This affiliated college is in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, and it permitted by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). VIMT focuses primarily in providing educational facilities, and it is currently delivering Bachelor of Education (B Ed). It is recognized by AICTE and situated on 2.17 acres of ground; total intake capacity of the institute is 236. VIMT currently has a total of 19 active members in the faculty that makes the student –faculty ratio a favorable one. The institute admits students of both sexes, likewise, it is both a boys’ and a girls’ school. VIMT’s linkages with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University Kanpur therefore give impetus to VIMT’s over arching academic standards in offering the various academic programmes. 

VIMT has a number of amenities intended to improve circumstances for students and has several facilities. This school has the institute library where variety of books of 324 titles and 3633 copies are most beneficial in research and studies. ICT lab has 35 computers installed and an appropriate software package encourages versatility in teaching and learning. Creating it ideal for sports freaks, especially those interested in football, cricket, badminton, and all kinds of workouts, the school has a host of facilities including a well-equipped gymnasium. It also has an auditorium for occasions such as seminars, a cafeteria well endowed with food variety and differently gendered hostels for students. A network of Wi-Fi makes it easier for students to access any facilities available over the internet. 

Besides, for students’ necessary medical checkups, first aid and other vital health facilities, there is a health center in VIMT. Presently, VIMT only provides one full time course at the undergraduate standard namely the B.Ed program. This two-year program’s approved intake is 100 students. This program aims at producing competent teachers those who will embrace teaching profession with techniques and knowledge to enable them practice efficiently. Although this is a single specialization area that the institute mainly offers, it has shown a spirited belief in quality education in the field of teacher training. 

Currently, admission at VIMT is based on merit depending on marks obtained in examination, tests or selection procedures as provided in the government and university act. In case of B.Ed program, the admission is given according to the marks scored in the qualifying examination and / or entrance test. There could also be special requirements that depends on the existing polices of the Uttar Pradesh state government and Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur. The various categories of students who are eligible to study at the university are supposed to register for admission to the university. Unfortunately there is no information on scholarships for choosing specific educational programs, but students should consult with the institute regarding any financial help that can be provided. VIMT is having good connectivity for the students especially the students of Etawah. It is located 4.8 Km from the Etawah junctions railway station and 3.6 Km from the Etawah old bus stand to provide the easiest public transportation to the students. For those arriving by air the nearest airport is Chaudhary Charan International Airport situated 221 km away from the campus.
