Vivekananda College of Education is in Kanyakumari district, which was established in the year 1965 to make teacher education noble. It is a co-educational college established in Agastheeswaram, Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu—irrigated under the policy of affiliation. The college has the approval of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), which sets down the standards for training teachers across the country. Situated on sixty acres of land, the institute encompasses a proper environment for the learning process.

The college has installed and avails facilities that can facilitate the learning process of students in the college. Reading resources are stocked in a well-equipped library, while trainings are facilitated in various departmental laboratories. The university also appreciates the use of technology in today’s learning and thus provides quality IT facilities. Vivekananda College of Education is mainly a teacher training institution, though the college provides other courses; it mainly deals with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme. This full-time course duration of the course is two years, though this has an approved capacity of only 100 students. The B.Ed programme is therefore formulated to prepare passionate individuals to fit into the teaching profession with adequate knowledge. Currently, the students enrolled in the college are 190, while the faculty side has 15 professional staff members, which makes our student-teacher ratio very advantageous.
