Vivekananda College of Education as an affiliated college was established in the year 2016 and is located in Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal. This co-educational institution on a consolidated area of 0.8829 acres aims to become an institution for teacher education. Approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the college offers two full-time courses: B.Ed. and D.Ed. This college enrols 300 students every year in total and has a faculty of 16 hence, this college offers a good environment for learning for those students who want to be trained as teachers. Overall, about 150 students are offered the chance to study at the institute and undergo preparation for teacher qualifications; the number of students is reasonable and the institute can pay individual attention to each of the students who chooses the course.

The performance of students in the qualifying and entrance examinations is taken into consideration in the admission process of Vivekananda College of Education. While the programme for admissions in the B.Ed. programme is made according to the policy framed by the state government, the UT administration, and the university to which the college is affiliated. Like any other course, the admission norms of the D.El.Ed. programme are applicable according to the state government or UT administration norms only.
