Vivekananda College of Education, Warangal, was started in the year 2013. It is a self-financing institution and the prime aim is to produce quality.”. It is a co-educational institution that is situated in Narsampet, Warangal, Telangana, and occupies an area of 1 acre. Approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the college offers two full-time programmes: B.Ed and D.El.Ed. The total number of students admitted to the institute is 64 and despite having a small enrolment of faculty members, which is 6, ASHMIT offers a good teaching and learning climate to the prospective teachers. This is evident through colleges’ curriculum and through their endeavours for student’s balance in the institution.
It has a number of amenities that are unique and serve to make a difference in the learning environment of the college. A well-equipped library plays an important role as a source of important knowledge that should be helpful in training teachers. Accommodation at the facility is comprised of formal classrooms and compact laboratories; practical teaching-learning activities are essential in campsite training. Vivekananda College of Education offers two primary courses, including a two-year B.ED (Bachelor of Education) programme with one hundred seats and a two-year D.EL.ED (Diploma in Elementary Education) programme with fifty seats. Both programmes are based on full-time study, helping students prepare for future occupations as educators. The B.Ed programme is in preparation for teaching at the secondary school level, but the D.El.Ed is for teaching at the elementary level. Over a year, the college offers manpower to the teaching fraternity by offering 150 seats to its students in both programmes.
Likewise, the admission policy of Vivekananda College of Education is completely merit-based, following the regulations of the state government, the UT administration, and the university to which it is affiliated. Test and/or examination marks are the basis for admitting students for the B.Ed. programme due to the course implemented by the government. Likewise, D. El. Ed. intake policy focuses on merit, which means candidates’ performance in the qualifying exam and/or entrance test. This approach makes it possible that only qualified and more passionate individuals are employed in these sensitive educational programmes.
