Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya, Sripally: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya, Sripally, was founded in the year 1964 and is an affiliated college based in Burdwan, West Bengal. Presently, the institute is accredited by NAAC and offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses to students. The college sprawls over 7.36 acres with a total student enrollment of 3,808, including almost equal numbers of male and female students, 1,893 and 1,915, respectively. 

The learning process of students is enriched at the college with several facilities. One such facility is a well-stocked central library started in 1966, which acts as the Knowledge Centre for the Academic Community. At present, the library is upgrading its software from SOUL to KOHA, a fact proving the modernization of the institute. Another core feature of the college is its laboratories for practical learning, which are subject-specific to a department. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled, and the students can access e-resources without any hassle. A well-maintained computer laboratory with internet-connected systems is provided where students can work on projects and assignments and do research under the guidance of the faculty members. The college emphasizes the importance of physical fitness; therefore, a multi-functional gym with treadmills and exercise cycles is provided for the students. Day scholars and hostel boarders are entitled to avail this facility.

Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya, Sripally runs a total of 22 courses; the significant ones being full-time undergraduate programmes. The institute offers 20 undergraduate courses and 2 postgraduate courses. At the undergraduate level, there are several BA and B.Sc programs. At the postgraduate level, it offers an M.Sc in Chemistry.

Admission to Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya, Sripally, would be based on the principles of inclusiveness and merit. Admission to most courses is made on the basis of the candidate's performance in their qualifying examinations. There is a girls hostel in the institute, called Madame Curie Girls' Hostel, which accommodates almost 200 students in order to make it easier for female students from far-off places to study in this college. Another hostel named Ashapurna Devi Girls' Hostel has been completed with UGC funds, which extended accommodation facilities to female students further.
