Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya, Sripally Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The College has a Central Library that was opened and started its functions in the year 1966 as “Jaladbarani Pathagar” in the Seminar Hall of the main building. It was set up by the donation of Hon’ble Surgeon, Dr. Sailen Banerjee. Presently the library is on the first floor of the newly built three-storied building of the college. It is well cleaned, decorated, and documented. The Library is using SOUL software and also planning to convert it into KOHA software very soon.

The College has a computer laboratory with 6 computers having internet facilities. Students use computers and take the internet facilities regularly under the supervision of the departmental teachers. They utilize it for preparing their projects and reports and also for searching for information on various current issues.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The College has a Girls’ hostel has been built with the UGC special Grant and College Development Fund. This new hostel will enable girl students from distant places to pursue their studies in this institution, an opportunity which many desiring candidates have so long missed because of this infrastructure-related inadequacy. The Girls’ Hostel, named after Madame Curie, is the newest feather in our cap. Another hostel named Ashapurna Devi Girls’ Hostel has been completed with the aid of U.G.C. funds. Nearly 200 accommodations are available.

The College has a two large playgrounds with an area of 4500 sq. ft. and 14000 sq. ft. are available, one within the college campus, and the other adjacent to it. Another large piece of land which will be approximately 18000 sq. ft. has just been recovered from public misuse after a long struggle by the combined efforts of the college authority, students, teachers, and various stakeholders of the college. The college has just constructed a six feet boundary wall and plans to construct the new third playground. This is also absolutely adjacent to the college. The event of Annual sports is held every year. Prizes and trophies are awarded to the successful participants in the annual sports meet. A special prize is awarded each year to the student for outstanding performance in sports and games. Interested students who are good in sports are sent each year as participants to the Annual Inter-College Sports Meet organized centrally by the University.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The College has Gym facility Treadmills and Exercising cycles and ancillary equipment for enhancing physical fitness are provided not only to students during college hours, but the inmates of the girl's hostels also use the gym after 5:30 PM except Sundays.

The College has a provision for primary first aid. There are five reputed doctors who voluntarily give free service if any component of the college falls ill within the college premises.

The college has a Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff.

The college has Banks/ATM facilities for all students.

The college has a convenience store facility for students. (like photocopying facility & stationery etc.)
