Vivekananda School and College, Chitradurga, Karnataka, which was started in the year of 1995. This co-educational institution, INC-approved, provides essential nursing training on a large area of 3 acres. Thus, the college has enroled 366 learners in total, 330 of whom are full-time learners, and offers a strong learner-faculty ratio with 5 faculty members. The institute is known for nursing education and it provides 3 courses that fall under 2 degrees only. It falls under programmes of General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), B.Sc. Nursing and Post Basic B.Sc. nursing something that fosters different areas of nursing.

Vivekananda School and College contains various facilities aimed at improving the learning environment of the college students. The extensiveness of the library is ultimately meeting all the professional and non-professional book demands and journal, periodical, and newspaper supplies of the students. The college also provides a computer laboratory connected to the Internet and a Helinet facility to implant modern medical advancement among the students. For practical training, the institution has functional laboratories to support learning that are over the years continually procured. 

The campus has a special hall for celebrations and seminars, playgrounds for physical exercise and a cafeteria for the probation staff and students. The college has hostels for both male and female students; dormitories are organised in such a manner that they contain basic facilities. The institution also has a well-developed transport system provided by separate bus services for boys’ and girls’ children to allow them to easily travel between campus and the city. The colleges have some associated hospitals, consisting of the parent hospital, Basappa Multi-Speciality Hospital, for the clinical exposures of the students for clinical practice.

Vivekananda School and College of Nursing provide a total of three full-time courses in nursing training. In total, the student admission in the institute is 366 for all its programmes offered. The ANM course currently has 50 seats and the GNM programme consists of 50 seats for the B.Sc. Nursing programme, which has 40 seats only. Accredited practical nursing qualification is also offered through the Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing course. They are aimed at offering students all the theoretical background and the set of skills that are needed for successful labour activity in the sphere of nursing.
