Training institutions in the field of pharmacy in Karnataka, VL College of Pharmacy, Raichur, were started in the year 1967. Sited at Manik Prabhu Temple Road, it is a coeducational college undertaken on a total area of 2.5 acres of land. It is affiliated college approved by PCI and offers the following range of programmes in pharmacy: With a student intake capacity of 438 and a faculty of 26, the college has all the amenities required for pharmaceutical education. VL College of Pharmacy currently has ten courses in a four-level degree programme that focuses on several fields of pharmacy.

The school has required Information Technology infrastructure and needed internet facilities for contemporary techniques of learning. Further, it means that there are transport facilities, facility of parking, and a first aid health centre in the college to protect all students.

Pharmacy education offered by VL College of Pharmacy include all level of pharmacy courses. The institution offers 10 FULL TIME courses: Diploma, Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral. B. Pharma is the flagship programme of ASBP with an intake capacity of 60, and D. Pharma offered 80 seats for the students. At postgraduate level, the college offers specialised M.Pharma programmes, such as in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Quality Assurance and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Other great fields of study for those who want to engage in research are the Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmaceutics Ph.D’s.
