VSM Institute of Technology, Belgaum (VSMIT) as one of the prestigious institutions established in the year 2010. This affiliated college, situated in Nipani of Karnataka state, has an area of 13.38 acres of land in total. VSMIT currently has 9 engineering courses: There are 9 engineering academic programmes at VSMIT, categorised into 2 degrees. The institute has 565 total enrolments of students and it is staffed by 63 dedicated faculty members. Another reason why VSMIT is known is for their focus on providing technical education; hence, it was approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). This institute currently has programmes that total up to 9 courses, the engineering undergraduate with engineering courses as well as the diploma courses. These full-time BE (Bachelor of Engineering) programmes take four years, while the diploma programmes take three years. VSMIT’s course spans across conventional engineering disciplines and emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. Nearly all the admission to VSMIT primarily depends on the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). The KCET, also known as the Karnataka Common Entrance Test, is the primary entry point to the common stream for interested learners. Out of total sanctioned intake for BE programmes, 75% of seats are self-financing through the KEA cell based on merit and the remaining 25% are management quota seats. This avails a competitive and fair manner of staffing. The institute strictly operates under the admission schedule announced by KEA, most often after the KCET results are declared.
