West Point School of Education, Bankura was established in the year 2014 among the affiliated colleges at the heart of West Bengal, India. This institution is a co-educational one, approved by NCTE, solely engaged in preparing teachers. On a campus area of barely 0.75 acres, the college offers two full-time courses with total student enrolment of 180. Having a faculty strength of 33 dedicated educators, West Point School of Education can boast of a decent student-faculty ratio to offer personalized attention and quality education. The institute's commitment to churning out future educators can be gauged from its focused approach towards teacher training programs.

The college has many facilities that help in enriching the learning of students. This is because it has a well-stocked library with more than 3,000 books, journals, and encyclopedias that serve as good sources for learning. It also possesses a Psychology, Computer, Geography, and Work Experience Laboratory that is well equipped. It provides a perfect platform, in the form of outdoors and indoors games, for the sports lover to balance their academic routine with sports, physical activities, and healthy exercises. On the other hand, this college has a multipurpose auditorium; therefore, it shall be considered an active Academic-cum-Cultural Centre for academic events, workshops, and seminars. Added to this are all facilities like a cafeteria, guest rooms, and separate hostels for boys and girls on campus, thus rendering comfort to the students. West Point School of Education, Bankura offers two comprehensive courses in teacher education. The seriousness of the institute's commitment to intensive and detailed teacher training is reflected in the curricula of both courses. The intake capacity for each course, the Bachelor of Education and the Diploma in Elementary Education, is 100 students totaling 200 students in both courses. In other words, an attempt would be made to provide theoretical knowledge, skills, and field experiences that a beginning teacher may need to have for his/her successful career as a teacher.

Since the West Point School of Education admits students on a merit basis, it therefore installs a sense of excellence in this institute. Students will be selected according to their performance at the qualifying examination and/or entrance test in line with policies as prescribed by the state government and university.
