Women's Christian College, Nagercoil is renowned for its high standards of education and exceptional accomplishments in teaching-learning, research, and extension activities which was established in 1915. In 2023, the MHRD ranked it 91 among all women's institutions in South India according to the NIRF rating. 

Providing "a complete, meaningful, and relevant education to women so that they are intellectually well-trained, morally upright, socially aware, and spiritually inspired" is the college's stated objective. The courses offered at WCC Nagercoil are B.Sc, BA., B.Com, BBA, BCA, MA., M.Sc, M.Com, Ph.D and some others. WCC has been autonomous since 1982 and is associated with the University of Madras. Admission to WCC Nagercoil into the courses is done based on merit in the qualifying examination. Students on merit are given WCC Nagercoil scholarships to pursue higher studies. 

In 2016, the University Grants Commission (UGC) bestowed the College the distinguished designation of College with Potential for Excellence, which is a fitting testament to the impressive advancements made during the previous 100 years. The heritage building Doveton House, historic academic blocks, six residential halls and the WCC Nagercoil facility include a Library that enhances the teaching-learning experience and other facilities such as a health centre, and auditorium.
