About Yashwant Ayurvedic College Post Graduate Training and Research Centre, Kodoli

This Ayurveda training and research centre is situated in Kodoli and was established in 1989. It is affiliated with this well-regarded institution meant for conducting Ayurveda-related research and education on 19.3 acres of land in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. This institute has been approved by CCIM and offers 24 courses in 4 degree levels. The institution, with a total student enrolment of 701 and a faculty strength of 83.

The institute has got all modern facilities to support its educational mission. There is a very well-stocked library with an plenty number of books, reference books, dissertations, and subscriptions to national and international journals, besides having access to internet and reprography services. Yashwant Ayurvedic College has a wide variety of 24 courses in full-time UG, PG, and Doctoral Programs in Ayurvedic Specialisations. The flagship course, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, picks up 100 in number from a huge number of students applying every year. There are 13 MD courses, 2 MS courses, 8 Ph.D. programs with different intake capacitates making them.

Admission to Yashwant Ayurvedic College is based primarily on the national-level entrance test. For BAMS, the students will qualify according to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. Postgraduate admissions in MD and MS take place through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate. In some courses, the college also accepts the scores of All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test AIAPGET. These tests are designed to make the admissions process fair and competitive in a way which selects students based on merit and aptitude in the study of Ayurveda.

To select the most able and dedicated students for its programs, Yashwant Ayurvedic College follows an admission process.

As it mainly relies on national level entrance examinations for admissions into college with equal competition and opportunity, undergraduate courses like BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) is based on NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. Similar to the NEET PG for postgraduate admission procedures, MD and MS programs. Moreover, for some courses, the college accepts scores from the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET).

The academic year at Yashwant Ayurvedic College usually starts in August-September, but the admission process usually starts a few months earlier, generally in May-June. The student should have done 10+2 with physics, chemistry, and biology as compulsory subjects to be eligible for undergraduate admission. Normally, they should have got a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the qualifying exam. Postgraduates can apply only when they have obtained their BAMS or equivalent qualification from any reputed university.

Application Process

The application process varies with the program for Yashwant Ayurvedic College:

For BAMS:

2. Fill the application form for PhD which can be downloaded from the website of the college.

4. Pay the application fee for PhD.

5. Attend entrance tests and/or interviews as notified by the college.

The Admission process at the University is entirely merit-based. Admission through entrance exam scores later followed by document verification and in some cases interviews or additional tests for postgraduate and doctoral programs.

Degree wise Admission Process

BAMS: The college accepts candidates into its BAMS course based on their NEET score. It provides 100 seats for the flagship course. Candidate must have 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and clear the NEET examination.

MD/MS: Yashwant Ayurvedic College offers 13 MD courses and 2 MS courses. The admission for postgraduate programs is based mostly on NEET PG scores. A few courses are also considering AIAPGET scores. Generally, each specialization has 6 seats, and in the case of MS Shalya Tantra, there are 12 seats.

PhD: The college offers 8 PhD programs in different Ayurvedic specializations. Admission to PhD programs is on the basis of the performance of the candidate in entrance tests and interviews conducted by the college. Generally, each PhD program has 3-6 seats available.
