Yingli College, Longleng: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Yingli College located at Longleng, Nagaland, is an affiliated college that started in 1992. Founded over 33 years ago, this institution occupies a vast piece of land of 52.47 acres and has been offering education to its clients. Situated in the city of Bijapur, the PIET’s affiliated college is NAAC recognised college, which provides undergraduate courses in arts and humanities. Yingli’s total student capacity is 548 while the faculties & staffs are 18 and therefore offers quality education due to its small class sizes. The college teaches seven courses within two degrees and offers concentration areas within the Bachelor of Arts degrees.

The great number of facilities developed for a Yingli College student is also worth mentioning. The college library measures 2520 sq. ft and contains 2800 books and e-books, magazines, newspapers, and journals and books of local history and traditions. It is as yet used automation using KOHA Software Version 16.05 at this point in time. The college therefore offers accommodation in both boys’ and girls’ hostels for the student’s convenience. Sports lovers can be able to organize for themselves sports activities within the college, facilities for these are available, the college also has an auditorium for events and seminars. The college also encompasses information technology facilities, laboratories, a canteen and a shop for students necessities. 

Currently, the college provides seven undergraduate programs and all of them are full time programmes. Among them are a general Bachelor of Arts and six honours classes in English, political science, history, education, sociology and economics. The general BA program has the highest number of enrollments with 150 seats and each of the honours programs has 25 seats. These different options enable students to follow various areas of interests in various fields of humanities and social sciences. The annual fees of these programs are standardized at 14,700 INR and as a result, higher education is achieved by many students.

Yingli College admission is merit based, meaning that students seeking admission to this college are expected to provide their 10+2 result. The college does not announce specific admission dates though students are encouraged to visit the college website or contact the office of admission to gain further information on the same. Of course, there are no specific entrance tests mentioned by the college and this can mean only one thing – their admission policy is based mostly on performance in other studies. Yingli College aims at creating a pluralistic and an empirical atmosphere that allows students of different origin to realize their dreams of continuing with their studies at the higher education level in Longleng, Nagaland.
