Degree Wise Admission Process
BA/B.Sc Honours Programs: YSPM offers a variety of courses in Arts and Science Honours for Bengali, English, Sanskrit, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Geography, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Zoology, and Physics. Admission into these courses is mostly on account of the marks scored in the 12th standard examination. The college has varying intake capacities concerning different courses from the lowest of 11 seats in B.Sc Physics Honours to a maximum of 140 seats in BA English Honours.
BA (General): BA (General) courses are offered by the college in very high intake capacities, and admissions seem to be prioritized on the basis of score in 12th standard, with prevalent focus on subjects related to Arts stream attainment.
B.Sc (General): General B.Sc courses have 98 seats for admission. Performance on the 12th standard level in science subjects would usually be considered as the admission criteria.
B.Ed: For the B.Ed program, YSPM has 100 seats, and admission through merit is based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or an entrance examination.
