YIMS, Mundur: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Yuvakshetra Institute of Management Studies (YIMS) is a popular well-equipped educational institution situated in Mundur, Palakkad district of Kerala state, India and was started in the year 2005. This affiliated college having a vast area of 22.5 acres provide a plethora of 19 courses under 8 different degree programmes. YIMS has gone through the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to reward it accreditation in offering quality education. As per intake capacity of total number of students per year is 1823 and faculty per annum 67, remained effective to provide the favourable learning environment in the institute for those who wish to engage in professional course. It needs to be pointed out that YIMS provides specialised options in Management, Hotel Management, Psychology, English and Computer Applications; it would be possible to find something suitable for every learner.

The institute has the following features to boost the whole learning process of the students; The library is an essential study and academic material deposit centre containing a large stock of books, magazines, and journals, replenished annually according to the needs of learners. For the technical people we have kept an elegant YIMS Computer Lab equipped with sixty fully-functionally computer systems with high internet connection and other professional related software. While focuses on a kind of comprehensive development, YIMS provides a series of sports facilities such as a large outdoor stadium for Basketball and Volleyball fields. The health-oriented students may also have an opportunity to use the gymnasium that is provided by the college while there are many lecturers interested in martial art and yoga, special practice and training can be facilitated at the college.

YIMS provides all the general courses for students, undergraduate and postgraduate. At present, the institute offers 19 courses which are offered in different fields of study. Among the most sought after in undergraduate level study programmes, some of these are B.Sc Hotel Management and Culinary Arts, B.Sc Hotel Management and Catering Science, B.Com Computer Application and B.Sc Psychology. At post graduate level, the courses offered by YIMS include, MA English, M.Sc Psychology, M.Com Finance and others. It assures flexibility through its course selection and the courses offered at the institute will meet the current career market and student needs.

Regarding the admission of students, YIMS encourages the use of merit for this is essential to admit all the deserving candidates to get their preferred course. YIMS offers admission to different programmes at different times of the year, though the admission usually start several months before the beginning of an academic year. This is demonstrated by availability of hostel for the boy’s and girl’s with qualified staff in charge of the students’ accommodation.
