Eligibility Criteria (UG & PG) of Jewellery Design
Jewellery Design students must meet certain basic prerequisites in order to be admitted to the college of their choosing. This is the absolute minimum that the student must achieve; else, his or her application will be rejected. The requirements for enrolling in a Jewellery Design programme are as follows.
Eligibility Criteria UG Courses
For students at the undergraduate level, the eligibility criteria are - completion of 10+2.
They can also appear for any equivalent exam with minimum passing marks at least and students of all streams can apply for this exam (from arts to commerce, this course is for all who have an interest in this particular field).
Top Entrance Exams for UG Courses
All India Entrance Exam for Design: This online entrance exam is conducted by Arch College of Design and Business. Upon qualifying for this exam, students can get admitted in both UG plus PG levels of design courses. There are two stages to this exam. Candidates are tested on two things - creative aptitude and general aptitude.
UCEED: The exam is administered by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and is regulated by the UCEED Admissions committee. It's a national entrance test for design programmes at the undergraduate level. Students who pass the admission exam with the required score will be accepted into the B.I.D, B.Des programme. All Indian and international applicants are eligible to take the UCEED exam.
Eligibility Criteria for PG Courses
For students at the post-graduate level, the eligibility criteria are - completion of a bachelor’s degree in the related field from any recognized university.
Students from the not-so-related field can also apply if they have the streak of the skill set required for jewellery design.

This diploma course is open to all yet you do need the required skill set atleast the basic knowledge. The admission to the course is done on the basis of 12th percentage. There will be no entrance exam conducted for the course. As far as I know your 12th marks should be considered for admission. The duration for Diploma in Jewellery Design will be 1 or 2 yeara depending on the course type and college. The starting salary will be 2.5 LPA. For experienced persons the salary depends on the number of years they have experience. So, for an experienced person with minimum 3 or 4 years then the salary will be around 5 to 8 Lakh.

A Jewellery designer is a person who is trained in such a way that he/ she has architectural as well as functional knowledge of different material, composition, fabrication techniques, wearability as well as market trends.
In order to become a jewellery designer, aspirants can pursue a course at the undergraduate (UG) or post graduate (PG) level.
