Eligibility Criteria for Polymer Technology Course
Eligibility Criteria for B.E./B.Tech in Polymer Technology
The candidate must have passed 10+2 in Science stream covering Chemistry, Maths and Physics with at least 50% in aggregate.
Selection is based on the entrance exam scores and depends on the college score cut-of
Merit-based admission is available in some colleges.
Lateral Entry – Entry into the second year of this course is also possible. Candidates who have completed class 10 and 3-year diploma courses in Engineering or B.Sc. in any stream are eligible for lateral entry. Math is a mandatory subject.
Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech/ M.E in Polymer Technology
The candidate must hold an undergraduate degree in Polymer technology(preferred) or courses like Polymer engineering, Chemical engineering, Material science, Mechanical engineering, Petroleum engineering and Textiles with at least 60% marks or CGPA.
Candidates who have completed M.Sc. degree in Physics or Chemistry are also eligible.
Eligibility Criteria for Diploma in Polymer Technology
Candidates must have completed class 10 with science or its equivalent subjects. The minimum marks required is 50%.
Some colleges provide admission based on entrance exams conducted by them.

1. JEE Main and Advanced
Country’s most popular engineering entrance exam is JEE. The Joint Entrance Exam is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology. Qualifying the exam offers admission into undergraduate engineering programs and architecture programs in the IITs. Various universities also accept the scores of JEE MAIN and JEE Advanced exams. The exam can be taken twice in a year.
2. GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering)
India’s main entrance exam for admission into postgraduate programmes, GATE, is jointly conducted by Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and the Indian Institutes of Technology. GATE exam tests the candidates understanding and knowledge of various undergraduate subjects in science and engineering.
The GATE score is accepted by almost all colleges offering admission to M.Tech/M.E in Polymer technology.
This is a multiple-choice and numerical type exam. It is divided into three sections – General Aptitude, Engineering Math, Subject-specific knowledge.
3. State-level entrance exams
Candidates can also take state level exams like KCET and CET Delhi to obtain admission into B.E/ B.Tech in Polymer Technology.
