The cutoff is based on the no of seats and the no. Of candidates applying for the course. But still you can hope for a secured seat in m.tech for mechanical branch if u r having a rank between 1- 350. Since first round counseling always closes at 300 rank and if u r having rank under 350 u can surely get it.

You are super capable of taking the NIT (NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNICAL TEACHERS TRAINING RESARCH) but you have to prepare for some entrance eligibility exams neende for the institute with some basic knowledge of the course and make sure your current position is apt for the institute to get admission in it . Your scores are fine but getting a government college is not that easy. Since yiyo scores are fine so there may be a possibility that you may get one of your choices but its just a probabbl solutions so you may have to wait for otthe rounds of counselling as well. Good luck!

Your rank is quite good so from this point of view you are clearly eligible for counselling procedures ahead. Talking about your b.tech CGPA you got 6.47 cgpa and that is under eligibility criteria so anyways you are eligible but your score of graduation might affect your seat allotment.

The counselling for WB PGET starts from 29th July.Those who will qualify the Entrance Exam and will get the place in the merit list will be called for the GD/PI followed by Counselling process. In the counselling, the candidates will be able to choose their desired college to get admission. The counselling will be held for more than a chance. First, the candidates of the first Merit List will go through the counselling. Then if the seats will have remained, the students of the waiting list will be called for it.

The authorities conducted West Bengal University of Technology Post Graduate Entrance Test (WBUT PGET) 2019 for admissions into M.Tech./ M.E. programmes offered by the institute on July 13. For the qualified candidates, the c ounselling will be conducted in offline mode and further admission procedure will be followed.Tentative schedule of counselling procedure is scheduled to be on 29th July. Candidates having their names in the merit list will be invited to participate in the counselling of WBUT PGET 2019. Such candidates will have to pay Rs. 500 as counselling fees. Following it, they will be required to fill their preferred choice of colleges and course. The seats will be allotted to candidates on the basis of their merit, choice filling and availability of seats. For those who will be satisfied with their allotted seats will have to confirm their admission by reporting at the allotted institute and paying the required admission fee.
