For the post of a drug inspector first of all you must get through the written test , viva voice and physical fitness test . And then along with these you need to have an experience of at least 3 years in the manufacturing field .

But it should be kept in mind that the eligibility conditions, both the educational qualification, as well as the age limits, may vary to some extent from state to stoe ato various Departments of Union Government.
- Complete your 12th class with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the main subjects.
- Post 12th class, you need to take some kind of entrance exams by various state governments and pharmacy institutes for admission to Bachelor of pharmacy course or Diploma in pharmacy course. The examination consists of objective multiple choice type of questions from the relevant subjects and is usually held in the month of May to June. Drug Inspector job is a profitable profile for candidates who have completed their Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. The minimum years of experience required for this are 3 years in the manufacturing field. Detailed qualification requirements and selection procedure is mentioned below.
Required eligibility
- Must be an Indian citizen
- A minimum of 18 months of experience in the manufacturing field.
- Must be in the age of between 21 years and 35 years. Relaxation of 5 years has been given to the reserved category.
Selection procedure
- Candidates who are interested must appear in the Entrance Tests conducted by a variety of state governments and separate Pharmacy institutes for providing admission to B.Pharm or D.Pharm courses. The questions in these exam come from topic of English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology.

To be a drug inspector the qualifications are:
- You should have passed B.pharma.
- You must have at least 18 months of experience in manufacturing of at least one substance specified in schedule C;OR
- You must have at least 18 months experience in testing of the substance in Schedule C in an approved testing laboratory;OR
- You must gain an experience of at least of 3 years in the inspection of a firm's manufacturing unit of any substance of Schedule C.
To get to know more you can look up it in Drug and Cosmetic Act and in 3rd year 5th semester you will have a subject of Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence in which you will be taught about all the duties and qualifications of drug inspector.
