How can I prepare for PG entrance test in English if I have very short time for entrance in EFLU ?
Hi Alakananda Rout,
In order to answer PG Entrance test in English which is EFLU, you must have good writing skill using English language. This exam is only to test how creatively can a student use English language. The topics are not always the same. Also, keep reading books, newspapers for improving your vocabulary. Refer to previous years question papers which will provide you an overview of how the paper is set and the types of questions asked.
Good luck!

Hello Adhitya,
Hope you're doing well.
EFLU offers BA hons in various foreign languages, which has a good career scope aftermath. Coming to your query, the questions are asked from three sections :
- Foreign language questions
- Logical reasoning
- English language
Foreign language questions consist of questions from their particular country's culture, a bit of history etc, and grammar. So, you need to study about the same particular language.

literature topics to cover for ma english entrance eflu
Hello Ganga!
There are some important areas upon which the ELFU question for MA English is set and you must know that.
- Literature - Go through history of English Literature and an introduction to literary theory. Reading books written by authors like Shakespeare is important. You must be comfortable writing long, critical answers for atleast two literary texts.
- Grammar (including passage)
- General knowledge (along with current affairs)- Knowledge of latest issues in literary studies, and the names of recent awardees etc. - the Man Booker prize, the Nobel in Literature, the Pulitzer Prize - is always handy and useful, particularly for the EFLU exam.
- Logical reasoning - Reasoning both language and mathematical based will be asked .
You can visit the EFLU Library to get the previous question papers, then decide what to be covered for the entrance. It will be really helpful. Anyways, I am attaching some model question papers for EFLU MA english that were available online below(click to download):-

All the best!
sir can you please guide me to clear EFLU entrance exam 2021-22.... can you please send me the sample question papers and previous years question papers of ba( hons) English.
Hi, Adithya.
The EFLU Entrance Exam for BA English (Hons.) is a 100 marks test of 2 hours with 1 mark awarded for every correct answer and no negative marking for incorrect answers.
there are total 7 sections covered in the exam :-
-
Section A - Grammar (15 marks)
-
Section B - Vocabulary (10 marks)
-
Section C- Reading (15 marks)
-
Section D- Writing (10 marks)
-
Section E- General Knowledge (10 marks)
-
Section F- Reasoning (20 marks)
- Section G- Literature (20 marks)
I will provide a general preparation strategy so feel free to pick or modify as per your requirements:
1) English (Grammar/Vocabs/Reading) - Since this is an entrance test for an arts course in English itself then it is advisable to work hard for this section as it will help build a strong foundation for you if and when you pursue the course. It is also required if you consider yourself weak in English.
Start by going through one of these books - Objective General English by SP Bakshi or Objective English for competitive examination by Hari Mohan Prasad and Uma Sinha.
you will have to cover (at least) - Basic grammar (modals, punctuations, sentence correction etc.), poetic devices (very important), Vocabulary
2) For GK - You should go through Lucent's GK book which will cover all the static part and if you do not read newspapers then at least go through manorama yearbook (latest one) to cover basic current affairs like who won the Man Booker Prize, etc.
3) Reasoning - You will have to cover things like complete the sequence and word relations, for that you can opt for any basic aptitude book like RS Agarwal and practice until you are able to solve in short amounts of time.
4) Literature - This section will cover things like names of famous novel characters, quotes, literary devices used in famous poems, etc.
Being an avid reader always helps in that regard so there is no book for it.
I am attaching a link to one of the sample papers that I could find (unfortunately previous year papers for EFLU are not available online, as far as I can tell), I hope it helps you get a better understanding of the pattern and the level of questions asked.
Prepare well, good luck!
is there any chance to get admission in management seats for the students who have not given entraqnce exam of eflu?
Hi there
To grab a seat for Management you need not to rely on only ONE EXAM .
It is absolutely fine to not to take eflu . You can go for other major exams held in India for management like
