Hello,
The first factor to take into account while choosing a branch is "Interest".
Pick EE if you have an interest in electrical. Choose mechanical if you are interested in mechanics, thermodynamics, automobiles, or aircraft.
EE will always outperform mechanical in terms of placement.
At NIT Rourkela, mechanical is a famous department. SVNIT Rourkela In NIT, EE is superior to Mechanical. Rourkela. SVNIT EE is better than Mechanical in NIT Rourkela.
Thank You

Hello Aspirant,
On such percentile it is quite difficult to get seat in any of the NITs/IIITs even after considering your OBC quota.
As per your percentile in JEE-Main 2022,
>>>>> your CRL rank is expected around 132274 - 148695 .
Now on such CRL rank you can have chances in following colleges based on your JEE-Main rank :-
NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering, Pune
Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Aurangabad
Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of Technology, Navi Mumbai
Bajaj Institute of Technology, Wardha
Trinity Institute of Innovations in Professional Studies, Greater Noida
To have a list of all those colleges which you can get based upon your JEE-Main rank/score you can use JEE-Main College Predictor:-
https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer
But o n such percentile, being an OBC-NCL candidate you have very good chances to qualify for JEE-Advance 2022 but still the cutoffs for this year have not released yet officially.
As the cut-offs are released along with the JEE-Main 2022 result so for now you can get an idea from JEE-Main 2021 qualifying cut-offs that are enlisted below :-
==>> Common Rank List (CRL) - 87.8992241-100.0000000 Percentile
==>> GEN-EWS - 66.2214845-87.8950071 Percentile
==>> Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) - 68.0234447-87.8950071 Percentile
==>> Scheduled Caste (SC) - 46.8825338-87.8950071 Percentile
==>> Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 34.6728999 87.8474721 Percentile
==>> PwD - 0.0096375-87.8273359 Percentile
Note that in above table it is not the actual cut-off for JEE-Main 2022 but previous year's cut-off.
You can check out previous year's cut-off trends from the link given below :-

In VIT Vellore for EE branch cutoff for Category 1 will be 23000, for Category 2 will be 32000, for Category 3 will be 54000 and for Category 4 cutoff will be around 70000.
So, you have chances to get EE in VIT Vellore at Category 3.
It keeps changing year to year depending on various factors such as difficulty level of questions, no of students appear for the exam, no of students want to get the the same branch etc.
