I got 86% in 10th ,76 % in 12th and 7.5 cgpa in UG(BE).If I scored 99 percentile in CAT which college may I should Target for MBA admission?
Greetings Ramkumar!
Hope you're doing great.
You have a decent profile to give a shot for IIMs Especially the new ones. Common Admission Test(CAT) is one of the most difficult management entrance examinations in India. Every year more than than 2 lacs+ aspirants appear for the best and the only handful of creamy layers get admission into IIMs.
Now, assuming that you've scored 99 percentile and belong to General Category then the chances of getting into top IIM(A+B+C) is low. The competition is tough and especially for those who belong to Engineering Background. There are students with stellar records such as 90+ overall and there is priority 1 when it comes to allocating the seats. Let's take an example, suppose you're aiming for IIM Ahmedabad then: From your previous academic score you'll get somewhere around 8+6+5=19 as your AR(Application Rating Score) out of 30. Then in order to compensate your Composite Score close to 0.73(which was the cutoff of 2018), you must score around 99.7+percentile. Every single percentile added in the end will make a huge difference for getting a call. Hope things are clear now. The stakes are high and one should focus on getting as high CAT score as possible.
However, there are many other institutes where you'll have a clear shot at admission. Such as FMS, IMT, MDI etc. These institutes are at par with any top IIMs and have amazing placements. FMS is known as the best ROI b-school. Do check out all the options.

Is FMS Delhi good for MBA in HR?
Dear Arnab,
FMS is a prestigious institute, no doubt about that, but if you’re looking for a great college for MBA in HR, then you should look into XLRI, TISS, SCMHRD or MDI. The HR isn’t most preferred in fms, and going by student reviews not many people opt for that course. This in turn affects placements.
how much percentile did i required
Hii..
For FMS you need to score 99+..Each & Every time FMS cutoff was revolve around 99 perventile in CAT.
For IIT dms The cutoff should be 95+ percentile..But i don't think so even after 95+ you will get a call.Because IIT delhi will look for Candidate who scores More than 80-85+ in 10th,12th & Graduation..On the basis of this scores they will shortlist Profile...Still of you get 95+ in CAT then Lots of Good B school doors are open for you..
Best of luck
Can i get admission here on the basis of cmat performance 49%.
Noo..You can't get it.
According To last year trend In any of the FMS in india Will never give admission At this percentile.
FMS delhi-Only CAT
FMS-BHU-CAT
FMS-Vadodara- CMAT-90+ percentile for general.

What is CAT cutoffs for OBC category for FMS Delhi? & what will be the percentile for OBC to get a call for sure from FMS Delhi?
Hi Arnab,
The shortlist for MBA Admission 2019 with 2187 candidates was announced by FMS Delhi on January 2019. The cut offs for MBA admission 2019 shortlist reveal that the Composite score cut off, based on CAT 2018 sectional weightages has gone down to 53.337 for MBA 2019 as against 58 and 59+ in last two years. The GD PI 2019 composite score (after awarding weightage to CAT 2018 sectional cut score, Composite score cut off)
General 53.337
OBC 39.815
SC 32.086
ST 23.656
So, in terms of percentile for general candidates, cut off to get a call from FMS is around 97+, So for OBC candidates, it is likely around 90-95. It can vary depending on results year by year.

Hello,
You will get a call from new iims, but selection will be done on the basis of your performance in WAT and GD/PI and 15% weightage is given to academics.
For FMS Delhi, you will require 99+ percentile in CAT but will definitely get a call from IIMs.
