Hii Abhishek
congratulations on getting an average score / academics throughout . Some IIMs give academics a lot of importance so you might not be able to make it to them for IIM's like Indore ahmedabad , even after scoring a percentile above 99 it might be a bit difficult . but yes you can definetly get through and get a seat in some of the newer IIM's also a score of 99+ can get you to the faculty of management studies, Delhi . Crack the Common Ability Test with a good score and then you can get your dream true of getting into a top management college/university in India. You can also use and visit links by our experts to guide you to the best college - https://bschool.careers360.com/

I am having 75.8%,68% and 6.5 in my 10th, +2 & B.COM respectively. what are the chances & suggestions for me to get into IIMS/FMS/SPJAIN .
HI,
You need to appear for entrance exam namely CAT
CAT is not a knowledge intensive exam. It is all about one’s basic quantitative, analytical, logical reasoning and English language skills. You can read and learn the concepts, but it needs a good amount of practice to develop these skills. You can very well prepare on your own given that you remain sincere to your preparation. But, joining a test series and regularly attempting mock tests is important.
For those preparing by themselves, be dedicated and regular. Take as many mock tests as you can, analyse each one and work on your weak areas. Read a lot of books and most important, be self-motivated.
It is all about practice, practice and practice,Apart from practice, reading was the key for verbal ability
During the exam, be calm and do not think about attempting any particular number of questions. You have to focus on accuracy while trying to attempt as many questions as possible. At the end of the day, it is just an exam and your attitude towards it will define how well you perform.
WAT-PI round is the next stage of the selection process.
No such syllabus for WAT ,A good way to start with would be to read up on all the current news, be it of national or international importance.
The WAT topic will never be something that candidates are not aware of, as usually general abstract concepts are asked. In case it is not a familiar topic, examples or daily life incidents that can be correlated with the topic, could be used to build the essay. Her WAT topic was ‘Why should people in metro cities be encouraged to use public transport?’
'Is having many good friends better than having a 1-2 best friends?'
practising how to write argumentative essays is a good idea. While some need to work harder on their verbal and writing skills,
one should always stick to the point, and not writing unnecessary content to increase the length of the essay, as it will be judged on the quality and not the quantity of work.
GOOD LUCK
I can somehow manage only 50% in b.sc. I have 85.80% in class 10 and 83.80% in class 12.may I get a call from IIM Calcutta or FMS?
Yes definitely, you have the to get call from these B-Schools. As you are from non-engineering, probability of getting those colleges are high & you will get extra point for stream diversity.
Also your academic profile is good, just slightly problem with graduation marks. But nothing to worry, try to score good in CAT.
So, in the period preparation of CAT you can do also internship or can join NGO or you can do certification course to strong profile. Also these things will value add in your profile.
So, prepare hard for CAT. Aim for 99 percentile to get these colleges, & also prepare for GD-PI.
Hope you get it, good luck.
I eagerly want to take admission in fms
Hi Shrashti!
For that you should fill the application form of FMS available at its offical website and look up for the syallabus for its entrance exam.
Also after you have cleared the entrance exam, you have to go through WAT and PI and after clearing all these steps you can get admission in FMS .

I am in B.Sc computer science.i got lateral entry in direct 2nd year (S.Y.B.Sc) because of my 3 year diploma. am I eligible for IIM MBA?
Hey! Can i ask one thing? You did diploma in computer science or other branch?
How is drop year after 12th going to effect my admission/placements in IIMs or FMS? How do recruiters at IIMs or FMS look to Gap years?
Hello Bhavya,
There are few important things one you should take care while preparing for IIMs or FMS.
- Class 10th and 12th percentage(above 90%)
- Graduation CGPA at least above 8
- Job experiences
- CAT score
So, the gap year will not at all affect your selection in any of the top b-schools. Just take care of things mentioned above. Thought the most important part is CAT score. Also, I suggest you to get a job experience in the year you are dropping. You can also apply to diploma courses other wise it is fine to drop now.
