While the final year of BTech batch at GEC Barton Hill college is affiliated to the University of Kerala, all the other batches of the college are affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University. The Government Engineering College, Idukki has seven academic departments and it offers a variety of courses in the engineering sector.
