hello sir and mam, i want to confirm that I have 5 subject in 12th that are 1. English 2. Physics 3. Chemistry 4. Maths 5. Geography Sir my query is this that from geography subject am i full filling the criteria of 5 subject for joining IITs?
Hello Aspirant
In order to get admission into IIT or any engineering college, you should have 5 subjects in your 12th class with a science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Math, CS/IP) which is compulsory. You should have passed 12th grade from a UGC-recognised Board of Education with an aggregate percentage of 50% or 60% for major IITs.
Since you are fulfilling all the criteria, you are eligible to appear for JEE Mains and Advance. They just need you to have Physics, Chemistry, and Math in your 12th grade, they don't bother with other subjects. Unless you wish to do Engineering in a Computer science field, you are good to go. If you want to do BTech from CS, this will be a problem since you don't have Computer Science in your 12th class.
I have done my 10+2 in arts strem, so my doubt is can i able to take bsc in geography at my college level.
Greeting Student,
If you are interested in Geography you can complete your graduation my taking B.A (Bachelor Of Arts ) with geophagy has your main subject. If you opting for B.S.C in geography you have to change your field from arts to science. You can visit Mumbai university official website for more information.

Thank You.
i took geography in 12 th in place of math subject in science stream . what can i do after 12 th I dont know please suggest someone?
Since you took Geography in 12th instead of Math in the science stream, your options will be different from traditional science paths but can still be very fulfilling.

can anyone persue Master in geography after B sc in physics chemistry and mathematics
Yes, you can definitely pursue a Master's in Geography (M.Sc. or M.A. depending on the program) even with a B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Many universities offering Geography Masters programs require a bachelor's degree from a recognized university, often with a minimum percentage (around 50%), but not necessarily in Geography itself.
The strong foundation in quantitative subjects like yours can be an asset in Geography. Geography uses statistics, spatial analysis, and modeling techniques that directly benefit from a math and science background.
Overall, your B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics provides a strong quantitative foundation that can be a great asset for pursuing a Master's degree in Geography.

Im arts student and noww Im in 12th and I want to do BA mass comm. and journalism but Im confused about my subjects that I had taken is good for it or not English, history, geography and pol.sci is my main subjects can I do it ?
The subjects you've chosen (English, History, Geography, and Political Science) are all excellent choices for a BA in Mass Communication and Journalism.
Strong English language skills are fundamental for a career in journalism and mass communication. You need to write clearly, concisely, and persuasively across various media formats.
Understanding historical events and trends provides valuable context for your future work as a journalist. It helps you analyze current events and their potential impact.
Geography teaches you about the world's social, political, and economic landscapes. This knowledge is crucial for journalists who report on global issues.
Political Science equips you with an understanding of government systems, political ideologies, and current affairs. This knowledge base is invaluable for journalists covering politics and policy.

I want to take admission in maharani. I have the sub. In class 12 geography political and math. Can I take these same sub. In maharani University??
Maharani College, Jaipur offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) program, and based on the information available, the combination of Geography, Political Science, and Math might not be a directly listed option.
They do offer B.A. with combinations like Geography, Economics, and Public Administration or Geography, History, and Sociology . These combinations share some subjects with your interests.
If Maharani doesn't offer the exact combination you desire, there might be other colleges in Jaipur or elsewhere that do. Consider researching other options that cater to your specific subject interests.

I am studying graduation in geography now from university of calcutta. Can I apply IIT jam for geology ?
No, based on the eligibility criteria, you wouldn't be eligible to apply for the IIT JAM program in Geology with a graduation degree in Geography from the University of Calcutta.
The minimum qualification for the JAM Geology (GG) program typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field for three years/six semesters. While Geography is a related field in terms of studying the Earth, it focuses more on human-environment interactions and social aspects, differing from the focus of Geology on the Earth's physical structure and processes.
The JAM Geology program delves into subjects like Petrology, Mineralogy, Paleontology, which require a strong foundation in the core principles of Geology. A Geography degree might not have covered these specific areas in sufficient depth
Several universities offer Master's programs in Geography with specializations like Environmental Geography, Resource Management, etc. These programs might be a good fit considering your background. Some universities offer integrated M.Sc. programs in Geology or Earth Sciences. These five-year programs are designed for students who haven't studied Geology at the undergraduate level.
