I have cleared kvpy 2019 with a sufficient rank to get admission in iisc but I had a pcb combination in 12th, am I eligible for admission??
hi,
see Candidates having a valid KVPY fellowship commencing from 2020-21 academic session are eligible to apply for admissions in iiser. Additional cut-off criteria for marks obtained in 10+2 board examination is also applicable. so your last year kvpy score is not valid for academic session of 2020-2021.
I scored 50.33 in JAM BT, my rank is 544. I am from General Category. What colleges can I apply? Is there any chance I can get admission in IISc?
As per your score and previous year cutoff, the colleges you get are:-
National Institute of Technology Rourkela-- Biotechnology
Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad-- Biotechnology
Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology Shibpur District Howrah -- Biomedical Engineering
National Institute of Technology Karnataka Surathkal -- Industrial Biotechnology

sir/mam indian institute of science me admission kese le skte hai or kiya process hai kitni eligibility honi chahiye please help me mam
Hello,
The admission procedure in IISc starts in the month of February/March. It offers courses of UG and PG level in several disciplines. The basic selection criteria is based on the entrance exams scores obtained by the students.
1. For getting Admission in B.sc research a student should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board. Candidates should also have scores for exams like NEET/KVPY etc.
2. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree to get Admission in PG degree.
3. For Admission in PG courses, candidates should have valid scores of exams like CAT/GMAT/GATE etc.
4. If interested in P.hd then the candidate must have cleared a B.sc degree in relevant field. JAM/JEST scores are also required to get Admission in Integrated P.hd
5. The Institute provides reservation criteria as well.
Which exam I should qualify to get admission in IISc for m.sc. maths?
hey !
For qualify to get admission in IISc for M.Sc. you can write JAM exam or GATE Exam after B.Sc. to get admission in IIScs and IITs based on your rank.
Hope it helps :)
is iisc admission based on jee main percentile.
Hi Amit,
During admission process merit list created which is not only based on IIT-JEE mains but also on IIT-JEE Advance, NEET-UG and KVPY.
For IIT-JEE mains and advance they had mentioned the minimum percentage to be secured by the candidate of respective category. (60%-GEN, 54%-EWS,54%-OBC-NCL, 30%-SC/ST/PwD) so it is unlikely they are considering the percentile as percentile is used to divide the population (here it is no. of candidates) into groups where percentage is a number in each hundred.
For example if your percentile is 90 then it means you are better than 90% of others whereas 90% = (your marks/total marks) * 100.
all the major colleges like IISC in Bangalore are showing course name bsc in physics but not bsc in astrophysics so does the course have same thing?
Hello
No bsc in physics and bsc in astrophysics are both different courses though they are both 3 year undergraduate programmes.
On one hand, B.Sc. Physics comprises of theory and experimental courses mainly from Physics and few interdisciplinary courses like Mathematics Chemistry and Computer Science.
It emphasises on the fundamentals of Physics while introducing modern concepts such as Quantum Mechanics and Relativity proceeding over to Classical Mechanics Electrodynamics taking forward the courses like Electricity and Magnetism Optics and Waves similarly Statistical Mechanics and Thermodynamics.
On the other hand, bsc astrophysics involves th e study of the physical and chemical properties of celestial bodies and the natural phenomena that occur in the universe.
It is designed to train enrolled students in specializations such as Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism, Newtonian Dynamics, Waves, Optics, Modern Physics, and pursue an advanced exploration of Atomic, Nuclear and Quantum Physics, Solid State Physics, Relativity, Quantum Physics, Fluid Mechanics etc.
so the fundamentals of both the courses are different and both the courses provide different career opportunities to individuals but they contain some common areas and topics.
hope this helps
