Hello Prateek,

If you are alotted IITM which according to you was your 10th priority this means simply that your rank was not good enough to get the college from above 9 priority of yours. You can just wait for next round of counselling and can have a hope that you might get admission in college whih\ch is higher in your priority list. You can rearrange your preference list of you think you have a better chance to get into another better cpllege, wisely. You need to fill the choices smartly keeping in mind your rank and college cutoff.

First of all congratulation for performing well in your exams. The chemical engineering of IIT MADRAS is really good and you have a good scope for research or doing jo in some multinational companies. The companies which comes for the recruitment are

And lot more than these. The placement are good and sometimes even better than Mechanical and Electronics.

I congratulate you for getting such a high rank in JEE Advanced 2019 . According to your rank you can't get CSE in IIT Madras but you are eligible for Electrical Engineering in this college . But don't be sad as you can easily get CSE in IIT Delhi , IIT Kanpur , IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur .

As you have secured 96.17  percentile in jee main and 50 percentage in class 12th board . Since   in order to get admission in government  engineering institutions your class 12 the board percentage should be above 75 percentage but you have secured 50 percentage . Therefore you will not be able to get admission in any government engineering Colleges.

For getting admission in IIT Madras for aerospace engineering,you have to appear for JEE MAINS and clear the cut-off marks assigned to your category for the given year to appear for JEE Advanced then you need to appear for JEE Advanced and clear the cut-off of IIT-M for aerospace engineering and you also should have 75% marks in your class 12 board exams.If you want further details on cut-off of IIT-M you can refer to this link : https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced-cutoff-for-iit-madras
