There is no such official reports about anything as such that 11th dropper can't give 12th KVPY SX. So Yes, you can certainly try out and apply for KVPY SX. Also the eligibility criteria says that the candidate should be enrolled in Class 12 in the year of giving KVPY SX exam and the minimum marks required is aggregate 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) in Mathematics and science subjects in class 10th exams.

You are eligible to give KVPY SX 2021 as the eligibility criteria states that candidates enrolled in Class 12 in 2021-22 are eligible to give KVPY SX 2021 as long as you have scored Aggregate 75% if you belong to general category or 65% for SC/ST/PWD in Maths and science subjects in class 10th exams. IISc, Bangalore will release KVPY 2021 registration form in the first week of July 2021. KVPY 2021 registration form will be available on www.kvpy.iisc.ernet.in in online mode only. Exam date is expected to fall in the first week of November 2021.

• Students must be studying in class 12th during the academic year 2021.

Students who enrolled in Class 12th  with science subjects for the session 2021-22 are the ones who are eligible for KVPY SX stream and who is studying in 2nd year of Cambridge International Examination Board. Since, your class 12th will be finishing this year you are ineligible for SX stream. If you entirely jump the portions of physics then you might get lower ranks as compared to the others which may be dangerous for your dream to study in IISC. So I would recommend you if you have problems with Physics you should try to resolve it. Hypothetically, if you get a chance in IISC Bangalore without attempting Physics then also you will need the basic foundations of Physics in order to sustain your course work at IISC. So you should study physics and try to attempt as much as you can.

You need to secure minimum 65 to stand a chance to Qualify KVPY SX for the Interview. I would suggest you to be thorough with your JEE Main & Advanced Syllabus or AIIMS/NEET Syllabus whichever is applicable.
