Which companies are recruiting manufacturing engineering students.
Hi,
Engineering Management, manufacturing design, product design, manufacturing process and materials, engineering sciences, manufacturing technology, and also it includes various fields such as logistic and procurement, supply chain as similar to industrial engineering
Companies pertaining to these domains will recruit.

Can b tech manufacturing engineering students apply DRDO and ISRO ??
Hello Sourav,
Absolutely. B.Tech Manufacturing engineering students definitely have a scope to be able to get into DRDO and ISRO.
You can contact the HR department of your college to provide you with a letter of recommendation and you can send it to them for an internship as well.
Usually DRDO and ISRO will be easier to apply for if you complete your Masters as the competition gets too high in bachelors level.
Hope this helps,
Good luck!

Scope for b tech manufacturing engineering.
Hi,sourav
Manufacturing Engineering is one of the streams of engineering which deals with various manufacturing processes. It also focuses on research and development process, machines, tools and equipments. It trains individuals on how to handle various machines which turn raw material into a finished product. This specialised stream develops and creates physical artifacts, production processes, and technology. It's a vast field as it includes the design and development of products. The Manufacturing Engineering is a collaboration of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, computer science, materials management, and operations management. This stream was introduced in the mid to late 20th century, it was the time when industrialisation was at its peak. As the industrialisation was gathering speed, requirement was needed for specialised people who can take over the manufacturing department of the industries. With this view in mind, Manufacturing Engineering stream was introduced and within a short span of time, it became very popular among the students.
What are the scope for btech manufacturing engineering.
Hii,
Mechanical Engineering is a core and evergreen branch. Almost all core industries and manufacturing units makes use of machines. Thus scope is very bright in this field.
In these Following sectors, mechanical engineers are employed -
- Design Engineer
- Purchase and Quality Control Executive
- Assistant Mechanical Engineer
- Mechanical Engineer
- Automobile firms also recruits qualified Mechanical Engineering graduates.
- Indian Railways, DRDO, Indian Armed Forces, BHEL, PWD, NHAI, State Wise Road Transport boards etc recruits Mechanical Engineers.
Hope this will help.
Good luck!
Sir I am studying b tech in manufacturing engineering after GATE in mechanical engineering I can apply job in mechanical engineering branch?
mr sourav
You can do many things after Mechanical Engineering and there are many options. What matters is your interest. I'll try to list out few of the options.
- If you're interested in core field, then try to look for a job. If it is difficult and you can afford it (time and financially),. If you get a good rank in GATE, you may directly land in a job in a PSU. You know right that many PSU's offer job based on GATE score? . If not, you can develop a career as Teaching Faculty in B.Tech colleges and may be go for a Ph.D.
- If you want a reputed government job in your core field, respect in society, wanna make you family proud of you, then aim for IES and go for it. This will help you with other exams like ISRO, DRDO, BARC, SAIL, HAL etc too.
Can i do Mtech aerospace engineering after doing BTech manufacturing engineering???
Hello Harrish,
Yes, you can do M.Tech Aerospace engineering after doing B.Tech Manufacturing engineering. However, most of times it depends on the college. Most colleges have the minimum qualification for admission to M.Tech is B.E. or B. Tech. with at least 50% (60% for IITs) marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university and a minimum of 60% in class 10 and 10+2.Make sure to give any M.Tech Exams such as GATE etc.
Hope that helps and feel free to ask if you have any more queries. Best of luck!
Which has lots of placement opportunities inbetween M.Tech in Automotive Engineering and M.Tech in Manufacturing Engineering?
Hello Shabir,
Automotive engineers are concerned with the development of passenger cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles or off-road vehicles. They do one or more of the following:
- Design new products or modify existing ones
- Troubleshoot and solve engineering problems
- Plan and design manufacturing processes
Automotive engineers must apply their engineering skills in a commercial way because their innovations and solutions must be effective and profitable. Their typical responsibilities include:
- Researching, designing, developing and producing vehicles and components
- Preparing cost estimates and design specifications
- Preparing plans and drawings
- Analyzing energy, environmental and safety aspects of the planned project
- Predicting vehicle or component behavior under different conditions using computerized models
- Developing testing procedures
- Investigating product failures
- Analyzing, interpreting and condensing technical data into reports or presentations
- Supervise technical staff
- Working closely with other types of engineers, such as civil, electrical, aerospace, chemical and industrial.
Manufacturing Engineers work for a wide range of manufacturing firms. They take responsibility for technical functions and maintenance of production lines and also manage development of new production lines.
- Ensure smooth, cost effective production and high performance in the industry
- Prepare plans and instructions for the manufacturing process
- Set the functions on the machines on the shop floor to operate with precision in the production process
- Supervise fabricators on the shop floor
- Give detailed directions for efficiency in completion of the production process
- Troubleshoot problems on the production line and manage repair and maintenance
- Test new equipment and machinery to authenticate it for the production process
- Purchase and install new machinery
- Impart training to shop floor staff for the use of new machinery.
Is it good to join in manufacturing engineering in nifft, please say me ,I am in great dilema
NIFFT is a better choice than CS/IT of private colleges both in terms of placement percentage (more than 90% placement, which is better then NITs like NIT Patna) and amount of pay pulled by the students (both mean 4.75 lpa and maximum 14 lpa for 2017–18). Moreover its a government college with extremely less fee and its own industrial brand value.
However, manufacturing is not as lucrative option because you will have to appear for GATE from Mechanical or Production so extra work will be required. However there have been people from NIFFT's manufacturing department in the past who have made it to MIT Massachusetts and have gone to become professors at IITs. Many of them have are successfull IIM alumnis leading major companies. So it's not a complete disaster.
I won't say that you shouldn't be afraid. I will advise you to look for other options. But I will also say that your future is in your hands. Although Manufacturing engineering is not a glamorous degree, some people from this department have been exceptionally successful so in my opinion it would be unfair to criticize it. It really depends upon the student instead of the branch or college in my opinion.
