Hi there! hope you are doing well .MGIT it is better option because the placement offer is of moderate level the average package goes is in the range of 3 to 6 lacs. Around 30 to 40 percentage student are placed well. But in MJ College the interaction of student with the teacher is very good.

Yes, the books are good enough to buy and are very important for the reference. You can get these books for free but they are e-books in the form of PDFs. I would recommend these pdfs if you feel like investing money in books is not a good idea.

The cutoff required for admission varies every year from college to college depending on various factors. Some  of the factors determining the cutoff are:

Difficulty level of the exam
Number of candidates appearing in the exam
Total number of seats, etc.
