please let me know which branch is better in between energy engineering or metallurgy and material science engineering in Mumbai IIT
Undoubtedly Metallurgical & Material Science Engineering at IIT Bombay. In BTech, you should always pursue a Branch which has wide career options, include Core Engineering, Private Sector Prospects, PSU, Research/PhD/Masters Scope, Public Sector Research as well as a Branch which is quite relaxed in curriculum so as to enable you to pursue your interests be it Data Science, Consulting, Finance, Software or Management. Secondly youll be proud to be a Member of the Metallurgy Department at IITB, which has in past produced several remarkable Alumini and has a years long legacy. As far as Placements are concerned, at IITB and most of the Top 5 IITs, provided youre skilled with your interest domain, and have a strong CGPA (8+) Atleast, with probably strong communication skills, youll get Placed.

Hello, actually Iam getting metallurgy and material science in IIT madras and Kharagpur and also chemical engineering in IIT Hyderabad whereas mechanical and electrical in new IITs . Iam confused. Can any one suggest me .
Hi, if you are not sure of metallurgy and material science that this is what you want to do for the rest of your life than it is advised to not take up a branch that is very specialized. You can opt for more open branches like Mechanical, CS, IT. Chemical Engineering has a huge demand when it comes for Job opportunities. It would be a safer option than to go for Metallurgy and material Science. If you think that the new IIT you got Mechanical in is going to bloom over the years than it is fine. If you think that the value of that IIT won't be that much you can ignore. If you are ready to compromise with the IITs you wish to get in then you can choose Chemical or Mechanical. Below is the link for you to compare your colleges and it will help you narrow down your choices.

Hope this helps. If you still have doubts please feel free to comment.
i can get IT in iiit gwalior or some branches like metallurgy and biotechnology in iits.what should i prefer??
If you have to choose between IT in IIIT Gwalior and Metallury or Biotech in IIT's then also I would recommend you to go for the IIT's because the scope you will get there regarding the placements will be comparably good that of IIIT Gwallior. As most of the placements are open to all, so you can even sit for the IT placements as well. But the most important fact I think is that, you should choose the subject you like. If you are interested in IT then go for it. You will do great. But if you are open to take any fields then go for IIT's.

Which branch is tougher Metallurgy or Mechanical ???
Dear Student,
To judge which branch is tougher, you must know your interest in one branch. Because it totally depends on your interest, knowledge and research area.
Mechanical engineering is a sub-branch of engineering which consists of application of engineering principles for the design, production and maintenance of various mechanical systems. This branch includes the study of construction and treatment of heat and mechanical power for manufacturing the tools and machines.

Happy Learning!
is iit roorkee .. metallurgy good?
Hello,
IIT Roorkee is the 7th institution established among the IIT institutions. IIT Roorkee is one of the oldest and the biggest institutes of technical education in the country, hosting 21 Academic Departments, 1 Academic Centre, 3 Centres of Excellence, 5 Academic Service Centres and 3 Supporting units.Around 80 percent of the students were placed in this college. The highest package CTC was about 35 Lacs per annum and average was 13 Lacs per annum. Most of the company offered the roles for software developer, data Science, data analyst and graphic designer roles in Roorkee.
There are basic facilities available not very good nor bad. If you are going for fun and games this is not the varsity for you. And the faculty is not approachable as well.
Hope this helps!!
hi Im am planning to choose IIT Roorkee metallurgy ..but i have one doubt will i be able to sit in non core companies?..after learning coding and all.??
Hi,
The Placement criteria mostly depends on company. Many Technology Companies may set criteria that students from CSE and IT can only apply for them while many also have no such pre requisite. Companies like Microsoft, Google , Facebook have no such criteria. Any student can apply for their placement exams. However sometimes, College can itself impose restrictions on other branch student although that happens very less often.. If you know coding then definitely you have better chances of getting good package.
I hope this will answer your query.
Thanks!!!!
Which is better? Nit trichy cse vs iit indore metallurgy
Hi dear aspirant,
You are asking about which one is better so in simple words would say the National Institute of Technology, Trichy is the best among all. In fact, for any course, NIT Trichy offers better placements and quality education that a student needs.
Also, the reputation of this college is best and holds more value than any other as compared to other colleges.
I would suggest you go with NIT Trichy if you get the opportunity to study.
Also, you have mentioned CSE. Computer Science and Engineering is one of the best and valuable branches as compared to recent times. The need for IT engineers is increasing day by day. If you have internet in government or metallurgy related fields then go with metallurgy.
Talking about IIT Indore. See, talking about an IIT tag if you want to add the tag then go with IIT Indore but you must understand the value in future.
A wise decision is always appreciated.

is metallurgy engineering is a tough course
Hello,
None branch in Engineering is hard it's all about you interest.
Metallurgy Engineering is not very easy but not difficult also if you've put in some efforts.
If you enjoy theory, Metallurgy is mostly going to be easy for you. Most of the metallurgical subjects except Metallurgical Thermodynamics and Kinetics, Computational Material Engineering , Phase Transformations, Physical Metallurgy and Mechanical Metallurgy are largely theoretical.
