Are IISERs good colleges and are they comparable to IITs or NITs?? How are the placements also?
I am assuming that you want to pursue basic sciences. If you want to do engineering then there is no question at all, go for IIT.
To give you a brief account, IISERs are institutes that were set up with the idea of promoting the culture of basic sciences in India.
So, if you are passionate about doing research , you should definitely join IISER.
For curricular and extra-curricular.
After much deliberation, I would like to express my thoughts.
I ASSUME THAT YOU'RE A ASPIRING SCIENTIST, IF YOU AREN'T THEN JUST GO TO IIT.
IITs are engineering institutes, they weren't and aren't being established to create intellectual power but for highly skilled and educated man power.
IISERs are science institutes, they're goal is to create intellectual property.
The science courses in IITs aren't research oriented!!! Yes, that's true. At IISERs, the course makes you way more versatile, something which is very important in scientific research in today's day and age. IISERs are highly inter disciplinary, you'll find chemists working with biologists to make new drugs, physicists working with biologists to know better about the origin of life, mathematicians working with earth on modelling winds in a hurricane etc. IITs' science courses are application oriented and not research oriented.
One more thing, the people in IISERs are unique, yeah! They are GENUINELY curious and intelligent people. You find people seeing wind, clouds and taking about their shape and implications thereof!!! Life here is awesome. You'll never run out of new stuff to learn.
The professors at IISERs are awesome, all of them are actively doing their own research, they'll happily tell you about their research of you ask them.
Coming to jobs! IITians have good packages, but IISERites don't have a concept of so called packages instead IISERites get good PhD colleges (mostly educational institutions abroad). Again, if you're an aspiring scientist, don't worry much about pay, at the end of the day, smart people don't remain jobless.
which collage should i choose dtu environmental engineering/ physics engineering or nit agartala electronics and instrumental engineering?
I think if like any other student you prefer Placements and Academics over Research, do choose NIT Agartala Electronics and Instrumentation. In todays date, NIT Agartala is perhaps the most important institute in North East after IIT Guwahati and NIT Silchar. It has excellent infrastructure, faculty and research facilities and more or less standard placements in domains of Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science.
Environmental or Engineering Physics at DTU are both good only if you plan a career in Research or plan to go abroad or to higher technical institutes in India like Top IITs or IISc Bangalore for a Masters degree.
Is EIE branch from NIT Agartala better than CSE from low tier private colleges in terms of placement and job opportunity??
Hello Aspirant
NIT Agartala was established in 2006 by government to provide higher education in the north east states. It is a new NIT and also situated in north east state of Tripura. As, the NIT is new so an excellent infrastructure of education is not yet developed. Taking EIE branch in NIT Agartala might be a good option as you will get the tag of NIT in your resume. Taking branch solely depends on your interest. If you are very much interested in CSE, you can take CS in low tier college because in today's World, knowledge is valued in every field of industry. If you are interested in EIE you can take that in NIT.
Hope this helps and all the best.
Is Passing Certificate of class 12 mandatory for NIT Admission this year? Can i take admission if i dont have this but rest all documents are Fine??
Hello aspirant,
Yes, passing certificate of class 12 is mandatory for admission into NIT. Without this document and all other documents mentioned for the document verification process, it is impossible to get admission into NIT. Class 12 passing certificate is the proof that you have passed your class 12. Without passing class 12 you cannot take admission into any undergraduate program. So yes, class 12 passing certificate is important and mandatory.
