I am a medical PCB student and further I would do bsc nursing so I want to take optional subjects which is best for me ? can I take economics
Hello student, hope you doing well. It is critical to choose an optional subject for the UPSC Civil Services Examination that is in line with your areas of competence and interests given your background in medicine and PCB as well as your intention to pursue a B.Sc. in nursing. Even while economics is a good option, given your background in the medical sciences, it might not be the most obvious one. However, choosing an optional subject is a matter of personal preference. Here are some things to bear in mind:
Relevance to Background: Your studies in medicine and nursing have no direct connection to economics. Selecting a subject that fits with your prior knowledge could make it simpler to comprehend and study for the test.
Interest and aptitude: If you have a sincere interest in economics and feel you are capable of understanding its concepts, this may be a good option for you. Remember that understanding economics involves the ability to think critically and analytically.
Availability of Study Materials: Ensure that the UPSC syllabus is covered with thorough and dependable economics study materials. Effective study tools can have a big impact on your preparedness.
Consider whether you could benefit from tutoring or mentoring from recognized organizations to help you prepare for your economics exams.
Scoring Potential: Due to their structure and character, some optional courses are thought to have a higher scoring potential. Those who are knowledgeable about the concepts of economics may do well on tests.
Given your background, you might also take elective courses in zoology or botany that are connected to the medical sciences. These topics could help you make the most of your prior knowledge and experience, streamlining the preparation process.
Your passion, commitment, and conceptual understanding should ultimately guide your decision on an optional subject. You can take economics as an optional subject if you're genuinely interested in it and think you'll do well in it. When in doubt, it could be beneficial to look into topics that are more directly relevant to your history.
Time Commitment: It can be difficult to balance UPSC preparation with nursing courses. Make sure you have adequate time to devote to both without being overburdened.
Synergy and Current Affairs: Think about how your optional subject can enhance your understanding of current events and the General Studies sections of the UPSC exam.
It's a good idea to acquire information, speak with mentors or teachers, and even attempt sample questions from other optional courses to determine your degree of comfort before making a decision. Take the time to select the subject that best fits your talents and objectives because UPSC preparation involves a deliberate and knowledgeable approach.

can I take botany and chemistry and other optional subjects
Hello Aspirant
The fact is, everything depends on you. Do keep the following factors in mind when making your choice.
- your passion
- learning capacity
- devoted study time
- easy to understand, in your opinion
I claimed that chemistry is somewhat logical and that botany and zoology take more knowledge, but if you compare the two, I believe zoology is easier because it covers themes like physiology, which we can all connect to.
Thanks

Nursing as a subject isn't included in the list of optional, the syllabus of any optional subject is based on graduation level, hence your interest matters a lot here, also availability of study materials, the level of the syllabus as in how vast it is etc, so you can consider these factors when selecting your optional subject, there is no such thing as choosing one will make you score more, it's always about how well you have written the paper, your knowledge and having a good hold over the subject matters, so consider these parameter prior to deciding upon any subject as optional in upsc.
me Abhi 12th class me hu to mere pass 3 optional subject hai to kya me 4 subject le sakta hu so please tell me
The selection of your subject strictly depends on your board and school. You will have to take core subjects and secondary subjects for your 12th. Make sure you go through your board prospects and rules for the subject choices you are allowed to make.
