Good luck!!
I am interested to pursue my career in the field of robotics. So,in these two ELECTRONICS AND INSTRUMENTATION or MECHATRONICS which one best in ENGINEERING level or none of the above and GO WITH EEE itself
B.Tech. in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (EIE) is a 4- year undergraduate engineering course. It is a combination of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, mainly combining the electronics part for sensing with instrumentation engineering. This specialized branch of engineering helps to create, construct and maintain measuring and control devices and systems found in manufacturing plants and research institutions.
JOB PROFILE - Since B. Tech in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering course is concentrated on both electronic instrumentation and computer-related processes, it makes an Electronics Instrumentation engineer fit for both hardware and software industries, thereby opening many interesting channels for employment.
- Graduates can seek jobs in public-sector companies such as Instrumentation Ltd., Bharat Electronics Ltd. and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. and private companies such as Honeywell and other IT companies.
- They are recruited by a variety of industries in the various domain such as Design, Development, Automation, Control, Fabrication, Inspection, Quality Control, Maintenance and Service and so on.
Mechatronics engineering is a multidisciplinary study of the engineering/technology field that deals with the study of electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering, system engineering, and control engineering. Mechatronics engineering is a connection amongst technicians and engineers and gradually work from origination of a project to the culmination of the undertaking.
After finishing the Mechatronics Engineering degree, candidates can work on different aspects of technology such as control systems, artificial intelligence (AI) and expert systems, robotics, transportation, and computer integrated manufacturing systems and much more.
If we talk about India, there is a wide variety of career openings in Mechatronics Engineering graduates. Candidates can have a look at some of the job profiles/positions that a candidate can choose from after completion of a course in Mechatronics Engineering:
- Computer System Analyst
- Researcher
- Robotics Test Engineer
- Application Engineer
- Supervisor
E&I(Subbranch of EEE) is the answer because instrumentation includes industrial processes and techniques of industrial automation. Other thing is that none of the single branch will include Robotics as individual subject in curriculum. May be in the above branches like EEE,EIE,CSE,Mech will include Robotics and Automation as a subject but it is not a robotics which a laymen thinks. It is industrial robotics.
Every branch is good but it depends on your interest what to choose for your future career.
HOPE IT HELPS.. ALL THE BEST !!

Hope this information helps you out. Thank you
Which engg course is better to pursue my career in the field of robotics. Recently I have been allotted ELECTRONICS AND INSTRUMENTATION seat in MIT,manipal campus. Can I join in this course to make my future in robotics? Please give me a best suggestion regarding this problem.
Dear Aspirant ,
This branch is also a good option for you , if you have interest in robotics . In making a single robot it does not mean that only a electronics engineer will make it . It involves many type of engineers liek ME , ECE etc to make a whole robot .
Also there will be some robotic clubs in your college also , so must join them. There you will learn about robotics from beginner to advance level . And the best thing is that , you have to consult your seniors , they will guide you in this matter . There are various scope for robotics in foreign .
Hope it helps .
my viteee rank is 39900 can i get cse with specialisation in ai and robotics in category 2 in chennai campus
Hello Aspirant,
Sorry to say that ,
You have a same probability to get a seat or not get seat in cse with specialisation in ai and robotics in category 2 in chennai campus .
But try your self as much as possible.
Never loose your confident levels.
You can apply other branches too.

How to define robotics in short ?
Hello student ,
In short robotics can be defined as a field that involves the development of machines that does human work. It is a mixture of computer science technology and engineering.
Some robots are even capable of simple decision making. Moreover, current robotics research is geared toward devising robots with a degree of self-sufficiency. This will permit mobility and decision-making in an unstructured environment.
Today’s industrial robots do not resemble human beings. An android is basically a robot in human form. I hope now you understand the logic behind the logo of your Android OS.
Hope this will help you !
