What will be the overall score when I secure 6 bands in LRW and 7 bands in speaking?
Hello,
To determine your overall band score on the IELTS,
Total score = ( Listening score + Reading score + Writing score + Speaking score ) / 4
So as per your query,
Total score = (6+6+6+7)/4 = 6.25
In IELTS, Either a band and a half or a complete band is your score.
For example - 8 or 8.5. If score come like 8.25 or 8.75 then it will round off. So, 8.25 will become 8.5 and 8.75 will become 9.
So, Your score will be 6.5
Thank You
Im from India present Im pursuing B.tech CSE I want to do MS in USA which exam is best for me GRE, IELTS or University entrance test? my friend said IELTS compulsory for non English speaking countries Is it compulsory to give IELTS?
IELTS (International English language Testing System) is an English language test taken by millions of aspirants in non English speaking countries who wish to study, migrate or work in English speaking nations. This test is conducted at an international level. It tests your proficiency based on 4 skills i.e listening, reading, writing and speaking.
So yes, you'll need to appear for IELTS exam in order to pursue MS from the US.
Now, there's another English aptitude test for the United States. It is called TOEFL or Test of English as a Foreign Language. It is accepted by American Universities while IELTS is accepted overseas. You can choose from these two as per your needs.
Hope this answers your query.
All the best :)

Why is everybody speaking about branch change whenever there is discussion about Food processing Engineering at IIT Kharagpur?
Hello Subbu,
Food processing is considered as a lower branch in all the colleges and if seen from the practical aspect , in india there is very less scope in the food processing stream or in the horeca buisness.
If you want to pursue this career then i would recommend you to kindly look for abroad colleges for your post graduation and if possible kindly change your branch.
But also keep in mind if you are not able to change your branch then it doesn't mean it's a waste doing this degree. After all you are in iit and there are many companies which allows for non core stream even from this branch.

my english speaking is not propper . can i prepare for iimcat?
Hello Aspirant, You can use HINGLISH (the mixture of Hindi & English). However, several SSB board nowadays do not entertain any other language except English. Thus, there is no escape
The best option is to try your best to speak in English . Show your effort at least. In cases where you feel you are stuck in a sentence, you may use Hindi until the point you are comfortable back on track again. If you are a good orator, it is definitely going to make an impact on officers and other aspirants as well. one must understand this that an Orator is not identified by the language, rather he is identified by the communication techniques he uses to influence others.
I belong to Uttar Pradesh. Can i take a government medical college in a non hindi speaking state like Tamil nadu? will there be a language barrier during internship??
Greetings!!
It totally depends if you are willing to adjust accordingly since Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are not only different as per their geographical location but also as per language , tradition and also as per the food, because when you will be living their you will find that the diet is also different.
while studying teachers will be teaching in English and internships are also not be a problem since you will have to do work mainly but keep in mind that the accent which people from Tamil Nadu have in English is totally different so you will take time to understand their English also.
