What is the normalisation procedure in NTA UGC NET ?
Hello UGC NET Aspirants!
NTA UGC NET final answer keys has been released already by the authorities.
Although nothing has been officially declared by the authorities as result is rescheduled to be declared on upcoming 15th july.
Coming to what normalization procedure is all about -
Normalization is a process to compare students score across multi session papers. The true objective of the process is to identify the real merit and to be fair with the students.
The reason to get the normalization process in existence is to judge those candidates fairly who attempt the comparatively tougher examination and may get low marks in comparison to the students who have appeared for the easier examination.
So to overcome such a situation NTA decided to use percentile equivalence. Thus, for compiling NTA scores for multi section exams, normalization procedure is used.
It ensures that the candidate is neither benefited nor disadvantaged due the difficulty level of the examination.
Note – the percentile of total shall not be aggregate or average of the percentile of individual subject. Percentile score is not as same as obtained percentage.
Hope the information help you. thanks.
