A civil service Candidate must be a minimum of 21 years of age and must not be more than 32 years of age. General Category & EWS: 32 years; 6 attempts. OBC (with certificate): 32 years + 3 years; 9 attempts. SC/ST: 32 years + 5 years; unlimited attempts. General Category: 6 attempts till 32 years of age. The number of attempts for IAS exam: OBC: 9 attempts till 35 years of age. The number of attempts for IAS exam: SC/ST: unlimited attempts till 37 years of age.
as you mentioned your birth month is September and your birth year is 1991. let me assume you belonging from general category then your age is 31 year right now and you can apper for UPSC exam till 32. so you have 1 more year to be apper in UPSC.
my suggestion for you will be to study hard as it is your last month. maintain consistency work hard, study timely and crack UPSC.
hope this is helpful for you
best of luck
Should I take BSc Physics or BBA LLB cuz Im a UPSC aspirant and I wanna start my prep during the course of my degree. Also considering which course provides safer backup even if I dont crack UPSC and what job opportunities do these degrees offer respectively if I dont make it ?
To qualify in UPSC exam candidates have to do BA Honours in Sociology/Economics/psycology or BSc in honours with physics/chemistry/Mathematics or VA in History with atleast 60% marks in ug courses. But after all the motivation and mental set up for doing hard labour with a systematic routine regular practice is urgent.
But if you do not set up your mind for UPSC exam the the subjects mentioned here will be better for further study and doing a job in future.
Hope this help.
resp. sir I belong to OBC category under non creamylayer group and I have caste certificate too but I have lost my caste validity certificate so please tell me is caste validity certificate required in upsc at any level to get the reservation benefit
Hello,
As per the guidelines provided by UPSC in their notification, one OBC category student must have to posses the caste certificate prior to the application date. You need to validate your certificate again near the application date(when the upsc release the notification) your caste certificate issue or renew date must be near that.
All the best
i m completed my BBA so in UPSC they need graduation qualification so BBS student is eligible for apply government graduation level of form
Hello,
The eligibility criteria for UPSC is passed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university, those in the final year of graduation too are eligible to apply, there is no specific aggregate required in this case, so you're definitely eligible to appear for UPSC with BBA degree, and not only this you can appear for any government job exams which have the eligibility criteria of passed graduation in any disicpline such as state PSCs, SSC CGL/CPO, CDS, Railways recruitment, banking exams of SBI, IBPS, IBPS RRB for post of clerk/PO, insurance companies recuritment for the post of assistant/AAO, only in case of NABARD Grade B Officer/RBI Assistant 50% aggregate is required in graduation, and for RBI Grade B Officer 60% aggregate is needed.
my graduation will complete in 2023 july. upsc says finar year student shall also apply for 2023 civils examination . most of time before mains detailed application form !ug final year exams results not released.in that circumstances what. should I do? is there any option
If you are appearing for the UPSC CSE 2023, then you have to choose the appearing for the examination options. So with this option, you won't be required to submit the details if not available, you need to submit an undertaken which will be made available on the USPC CSE website. This undertaken will mention a date, before which you will be bound to submit the related documents. The time provided by UPSC for the submission of the documents is sufficient and the results comes out much before the deadline. So you have nothing to worry about.

is bsc with maths physics and geology good for competitive exams like UPSC and CDS?
Hello,
The eligibility criteria for both UPSC and CDS is Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognised university,(few of the posts have seperate eligibility like having maths and physics to opt for Air force etc) and in both these exams people from diverse backgrounds appear and qualify, now coming from Maths Background will help you in CDS ( Quantitative aptitude ) and even in UPSC you can have it as optional subject in Mains which is the second stage of UPSC Civil Service Exam. Of course there are other subjects involve too, which you have to study, the syllabus of UPSC is comparatively extensive to that of CDS.
Hope this will help you !
All the best !
Planning to take BBA LLB as my degree & prepare for UPSC alongside. But I was told to take BTech as it had more job opportunities & "better backup" & gave me more time for UPSC prep. But Im not that interested in Btech but Id go if I had to. Which has more hectic schedules BBA LLB/BTech(both pvt)
Hello,
Both the courses BA LLB and B. Tech. are top most courses and are best option for UPSC. Although B. Tech. will have more hectic schedule as it involves practical classes also, on the other hand BA LLB is more of theory. BA LLB will give specializations in the field of law and governance so candidates can expect some sort of overlapping in UPSC syllabus, but B. Tech. subjects are altogether different. B. Tech tends to build a rationale and logical thinking among candidates.
In past few years the number of engineers qualifying the exam has increased.
For better understanding and reports you can see UPSC's annual report where you can know the number of candidates qualifying exam with a particular subject.
Hope it helps.
All The Best!!!
As a UPSC aspirant should I take Btech CS or BBA LLB as my UG Degree? What may be the pros & cons of these degrees and which might give me an edge in prep as subject and time for prep is concerned? And which might be a safer backup even if i didnt crack UPSC or any such related exams
If you wish to go for UPSC, then whatever the degree you do doesn't matter. Your selection is entirely based on the preparation of UPSC CSE. You may choose any of the course as per your interest. My opinion will be that if you wish to go for the UPSC, and its your only goal, then don't go for the Integrated course. BBA LLB course is a good course, for those who want to make law a career. But you want to do UPSC CSE, and for that the law/rules/regulation will be provided you in the training schools. So being a LLB will not give you wings, compared to others who haven't done LLB. Its a 5 year course and I don't think it would be at all good for you to waste 5 years of your life in a course, which you won't get a career in. Instead, do a 3 years graduation and if required invest 2 years for attempts/better preparation.
If you wish to go for any of the two courses, my suggestion will be for you to go for the BTech CSE course. If you aren't confused, about what you want to do, then go for any of the courses and just keep on preparing for the UPSC CSE.

for upsc college or university which one is better
hlwo aspirant
hope you are doing well
see for UPSC it doesn't not matter in which college or university you are studying. IAS doesn't demand any specialized graduate. It just needs any degree as eligibility from any recognised university and college, but writing or even appearing for interview for civils doesn't guarantee you any job, until you are selected by board. There is no particular college for preparation of UPSC as it is an exam conducted in state level to collect merit students who then get ranked jobs in civil services such as IAS, IPS, IAFS, Armed forces, etc.
some college makes you prepared for some subjects like
government college for B.A political science in india(for upsc aspirants)??
Hindustan institute of Technology and Science chennai.
Fergusson College pune.
Gargi college New Delhi.
St. Xavier's College Kolkata.
Delhi College of Arts and Commerce.
Hindu College New Delhi.
Institutes in Delhi like Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), DU (University of Delhi), and India Insitute of Technology-Delhi (IIT-Delhi) send a lot of candidates to the UPSC. so if can take admission in any one of these then may be you will get a environment of civil services aspirants and you will be motivated and determine there.
hope this is helpful for you
all the best
