ojaswiyolo Student Expert 21st Nov, 2020

Hello

Since Siddhartha Medical College Tumkur is a deemed to be university, the fees are very high compared to government college hence it is not affordable for everyone. The faculty is very knowledgeable and helpful. They provide excellent guidance to their students and there is one year compulsory internship with around15000 rupees menth month stipend. The labs are excellent. There is no ragging culture and the seniors are very supportive. There are ample extra curicular activities too.

With JEE main and advanced rank, can I get admission in Indian institute of science Bangalore?

Abhishek Roy 22nd Nov, 2020

Yeah you can, perhaps assuming you are from General Category, you need atleast AIR 500 in either of JEE Mains or JEE Advanced to secure a seat in IISc Bangalore's B.S. Course, which again is very unpredictable. I believe a better option would be Qualifying KVPY SA or SX and accordingly secure admission at IISc Bangalore. The competition in KVPY is way lesser, though the main issue would be completion of syllabus at the time KVPY is conducted. Most of the Students yet dont complete their respective Class 11 or 12 Syllabus, but again there lies the challenge, and you even get a couple of chances. Even if you flunk in Class 11, you can reappear in KVPY in Class 12.

Which one is best MDS in orthodontics or MDS in oral and maxillofacial surgery?

kgsruthi 12th Oct, 2020
Hello Aspirant

MDS Orthodontics VS MDS Oral surgery

First of all ,there is no best branch,it depends on what is your interest and what type of clinical skills you have in that branch and your clinical knowledge in that field.

First coming to MDS in Orthodontics

MDS in orthodontics is a 3 year specialized branch dealing with teeth and jaw irregularities and it's treatment modalities.
In BDS you do only about pre clinical orthodontics that is wire bending and case history and not in clinical part of orthodontics,in MDS you learn every part of orthodontics, you get to know about dental photography in orthodontics, different types of patients from small children to adults who come to correct their bites and occlusion.
After MDS in orthodontics you can get a good job as a orthodontics, orthodontic surgeries, your opening salary may be from 3-7 lakhs per annum.

MDS in oral surgery is a branch dealing with local anaesthesia, general anesthesia, exodontia and treatment for pathologies related to oral cavity.
If you do MDS in oral surgery you can become a oral surgeon ,you can work in big hospital,if you wanted to work with surgeons then MDS in oral surgery is for you.
There are many specialization in oral surgery in which you can do fellowship after MDS in oral surgery
1.extractions, impactions (minor oral surgery)
2 . orthognathic surgery
3.oral and maxillofacial oncology
4. facial reconstruction surgery
5.cleft lip and cleft palate.
6.Implants
7.cosmetic surgery

After MDS in oral and maxillofacial surgery you can earn 6-7 lakhs per annum.

So I told you about both ,now you can choose between what you like and do that course.
