How should I prepare for CAT along with my college studies?

Sajal Trivedi 26th Sep, 2024

Hello aspirant,

A timetable is essential if you are preparing for the CAT in addition to your college coursework. It will give you an idea of how long it will take you to finish your syllabus and then set aside the appropriate amount of time for revision and mock exams. Without a set timetable, you risk taking your time and not completing your preparation as thoroughly as is necessary.

Thank you

Hope it helps you.

I plan to choose Biology, Chemistry and psychology at my IGCSE A levels, can i make a career in genetics.

monag2673 26th Sep, 2024

Yes, choosing Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology at IGCSE A levels can serve as a strong foundation for a career in genetics. Biology and Chemistry are essential subjects for genetics, as they cover key areas like cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry, which are crucial for understanding genetic processes.

**Biology** will help you grasp the fundamental concepts of genetics, such as inheritance, DNA structure, gene expression, and genetic variation. **Chemistry** is important because genetics often involves understanding biochemical reactions and processes like DNA replication, protein synthesis, and molecular signaling. Together, these subjects provide the core scientific knowledge needed for further studies in genetics.

While **Psychology** may not be directly related to genetics, it can complement your studies, especially if you're interested in fields like behavioral genetics, neurogenetics, or genetic counseling, where understanding human behavior and mental processes plays a role.

To pursue a career in genetics, you will likely need to follow up your A levels with a degree in genetics, molecular biology, biotechnology, or a related field. This can open doors to careers in research, healthcare (such as genetic counseling), biotechnology, and personalized medicine.

With the right educational path and passion, you can certainly build a successful career in genetics.

hope this helps you!!

Is a nurse can apply for forensic science for postgraduate course will be right choice.

monag2673 26th Sep, 2024

Yes, a nurse can apply for a postgraduate course in forensic science, and it can be a unique and valuable career shift. Nurses possess a strong foundation in medical knowledge, human anatomy, and patient care, which can be highly relevant in forensic science, particularly in areas like forensic nursing or forensic pathology.

**Forensic nursing** is a specialized field that blends nursing and forensic science, focusing on collecting evidence from crime victims, understanding trauma, and providing care in legal and investigative contexts. Nurses in this field often work closely with law enforcement and legal teams in cases involving assault, abuse, or unexplained deaths. With a forensic science degree, you can deepen your understanding of crime scene investigation, toxicology, and criminal law, enhancing your ability to contribute to legal cases.

Additionally, your medical background can give you an edge in forensic pathology, where a strong knowledge of the human body is essential for determining causes of death and understanding injuries.

However, it's important to consider your long-term career goals. If you're interested in applying your medical expertise to criminal investigations and the legal system, transitioning into forensic science can be a rewarding choice. It offers opportunities in crime labs, law enforcement agencies, and forensic hospitals.

Pdf is not working?? Links are not working

Deepti Singh 26th Sep, 2024

Hello,

If the PDFs or links are not working, it may be one of the common problems listed below:

  • Browser/Software Update: Sometimes you can view PDFs and links with out-of-date browsers or PDF readers. Make sure you're using the latest browser, such as Chrome or Firefox, or the latest version of Adobe Acrobat for PDFs.
  • Corrupt Link or File: If the link is dead or the PDF file is corrupted, try accessing it from another source. Sometimes, clearing your browser's cache, refreshing the page, or downloading the PDF again from some other safe link will resolve the issue.
  • Browser Extensions: Sometimes, browser extensions block specific links or PDFs. Some extensions include ad blockers or security add-ons that typically block particular links or PDFs from opening. Try disabling the extension to know if that solves the problem.
  • Incorrect File Permissions: Check if the PDF file or link is restricted. You should have permission or an access right to run.
  • Slow Internet Connection: This may be caused by the internet connection. Sometimes, PDFs may not load well. Try checking your internet connection, switching to a different internet network, or using mobile data from a hotspot if you need to.
  • Open in Another Program: If the PDF does not open inside the browser, try to download and open it manually with a dedicated PDF reader. Similarly, check if the links work well on another browser as well.

These steps usually solve most common PDF or link problems themselves.

Thankyou
