if F(x)= F(x-1) discusses continuity at x=0.

Jefferson 9th Sep, 2024

Hey there! Thanks for reaching out to us at Careers360. I'd be happy to chat about this math problem with you.

So, you're looking at the continuity of the function F(x) = F(x-1) at x=0, right? That's an interesting one! Let's think about this step by step:

1. First, we need to consider what F(x) = F(x-1) actually means. It's saying that the function's value at any point x is the same as its value at x-1.

2. Now, to check continuity at x=0, we need to look at the limit of F(x) as x approaches 0 from both sides, and compare it to F(0).

3. As x approaches 0 from the right, we're looking at F(x) where x is just slightly positive. But F(x) = F(x-1), so we're actually looking at values of F just below -1.

4. As x approaches 0 from the left, we're looking at F(x) where x is just slightly negative. Again, F(x) = F(x-1), so now we're looking at values of F just above -1.

5. The tricky part is that we don't know what F(-1) actually is! Without more information about the function, we can't say for sure if these limits exist or if they're equal.

6. Even if the limits from both sides exist and are equal, we still need to compare this limit to F(0). But F(0) = F(-1), which we don't know.

So, without more information about F, we can't definitively say whether it's continuous at x=0. The function's behaviour really depends on what F(-1) is and how F behaves around -1.

What do you think? Does this help clarify things, or would you like to explore this further? Maybe we could look at some specific examples of functions that satisfy F(x) = F(x-1) to get a better feel for it. Let me know if you want to dive deeper!

Im priya.i was pursuing BCA 2nd year i want to do my MCA in aboard.but I was from middle class family there is no financial support.. then how can i go abroad?

itsprashil6260 7th Sep, 2024

Hey there I am glad to help you out i hope this helps you

I wish to clarify a few things first before I start answering your question.

MCA is a very India specific thing. This course will not be found anywhere else in the world but India.

You can although do a MS (Master of Science) in Computer Sciences abroad. MS is usually a 2 year course (but there are a couple of university’s in UK & Australia that offer a 1 Year MS also).

Also please note, that the eligibility requirement for the MS course will be 12+4 = 16 years of education. In your case, since you have done your BCA you have only 12+3 = 15 years of education. You will need to do 1 year of MCA or MSc to even be eligible for admission to MS courses abroad.

If you do manage to do that, then you will have the following to do’s

US Colleges

TOEFL - Test of english as a foreign Language - required for MS in USA

GRE - Graduate Record Exam - Computer Based aptitude test which has sections in Vocabulary, Quantitative & Analytical Essay.

UK & Australian Colleges

You will need to give the IELTS exam (its similar to TOEFL)

apply for Scholarships abroad in countries like UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, submitting your academic record right from SSC and upto BCA degree, and extra curricular activities like games, sports, debates, community service, blood donation, environmental protection etc, prizes, awards obtained etc. You will get the financial support based on your excellence of your biodata. Then you choose the university and the country for higher studies. You also apply for Passport and driving licences and keep them ready as they serve as additional supportive documents to further your chances to go abroad for higher studies.
