Cut off for jee mains 24 th shift 2

Mitali Sharma 29th Jan, 2025

Hello

The National Testing Agency ( NTA ) does not release shift-wise cutoffs for the JEE Main examination. Instead, the cutoff scores are determined based on the overall performance of all candidates across all shifts. These cutoffs are typically announced after the completion of all exam sessions.

the JEE Main 2024 qualifying cutoffs for JEE Advanced were as follows:

General (UR): 93.2362181

OBC-NCL: 79.6757881

EWS: 81.3266412

SC: 60.0923182

ST: 46.6975840

UR-PwD: 0.0018700

These cutoffs represent the minimum percentile scores required for candidates in each category to be eligible for the JEE Advanced examination .

How much marks are required to get in gate exam and get admission in iit and get stipend or scholarship. Also tell me about the requirements for general category. Please guide me I am btech cse, 3rd year student and I want admission in iit for my mtech

kumardurgesh1802 28th Jan, 2025

Hello there,

To get admission in an IIT for M.Tech through the GATE exam , there are a few important factors to consider. Here's a breakdown:

1. Required Marks for Admission:

  • GATE Score : The marks required to secure admission to an IIT vary each year based on the difficulty of the exam and the number of applicants. However, generally, a good GATE score for IITs is between 700-800 . For top IITs (like IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur), a score around 750-800 would make you competitive, especially in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch.

  • Rank : Your rank is crucial. To get into top IITs for M.Tech in CSE, you generally need to be within the top 200-300 ranks (though this varies by IIT and the number of seats available). For lower IITs, the rank cutoff could go higher.

    2. Stipend or Scholarship:

  • M.Tech Stipend : If you qualify for M.Tech admission in IITs, you will be eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs. 12,400 (as of 2024) under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) or similar schemes.

  • Eligibility for Stipend : You need to maintain a minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA) in your M.Tech coursework to continue receiving the stipend. You also need to be a full-time student .

    3. Requirements for General Category:

  • Eligibility : To appear for the GATE exam as a general category candidate, you need to have:

    • B.Tech/B.E. in CSE or Equivalent (in your case, you’re a CSE student, so you meet this requirement).

    • A minimum of 50% marks in your degree (if you are from a general category).

    • A valid GATE score based on the score cutoffs in each IIT (generally, above 700 for the top IITs).

  • Age Limit : There is no age limit for GATE, so you can attempt it in any year as long as you meet the eligibility criteria.

  • Application : Apply for GATE via the official GATE website, and be sure to check the eligibility conditions and documents needed before applying.

    Key Tips for Preparation:

  • Focus on Core Subjects : For CSE, focus on subjects like Algorithms, Data Structures, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Theory of Computation, etc.

  • Time Management : Start preparing early (around 3rd year if possible). Make sure you are clear on the syllabus and exam pattern .

  • Mock Tests and Previous Year Papers : Take as many mock tests as possible to identify weak areas. Solve previous year papers to understand the exam's structure and improve time management.

    Conclusion:

Aiming for a 700+ GATE score is a solid target to get into an IIT, especially for Computer Science. Additionally, with the stipend eligibility, you can expect financial support if you get into an IIT for M.Tech. Since you're in your 3rd year, starting early with consistent preparation will be key to securing a good rank.

I do not understand why the KCET 2025 website is not working as usual . Do not understand why they do not improve their server? I do not know for sslc pass students, but i pass with cbse in 10th in Karnataka.

Prachi Kumari 28th Jan, 2025

Hello,

The KCET 2025 website is experiencing technical issues affecting student registrations. Here are the main points of issue :-

  • The portal has glitches, particularly for second-year PU students, causing difficulty in completing registrations.
  • These students are unable to mark their current educational status correctly, blocking further actions.
  • Although students with completed PU are able to proceed, many in their second year face delays.
  • This issue has raised concerns among applicants and affected the registration process.

Given your background as a CBSE student in Karnataka, you may not be directly affected by the second-year PU registration issues. However, it's advisable to stay informed about any updates or changes to the application process.

Hope it helps !

MY SON STUDIED IN KARNATAKA FROM LKG TO 10TH STD, WE HAVE SHIFTED ON TEMPORARY BASIS TO TAMIL NADU FOR 2 YRS SO HE HAD TO PURSUE HIS STUDY IN TAMILNADU FOR 11TH AND 12 TH ..WILL HE BE ELIGIBLE FOR KCET 2025 EXAM..PLEASE ADVISE

kumardurgesh1802 28th Jan, 2025

Hello there,

Your son may be eligible for KCET 2025 if he meets the eligibility criteria set by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). Here are the main eligibility factors to consider:

Eligibility Criteria for KCET:

  1. Resident of Karnataka :

    • He should have studied for at least 7 years in Karnataka (LKG to 10th grade). This makes him eligible under the "Karnataka Resident" category.

    • Since he has completed 10th in Karnataka , he should meet this requirement, even though he is currently in Tamil Nadu.

  2. Nationality : He must be an Indian citizen.

  3. Education :

    • For KCET , he should have passed 12th grade (or equivalent) with the necessary subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) for engineering or Biology for medical courses.

    • He will need to meet the minimum marks requirement (typically 45% for General category and 40% for SC/ST/OBC).

  4. Eligibility for Candidates from Outside Karnataka : If your son is temporarily residing in Tamil Nadu, he can still apply for KCET as long as he fulfills the 7 years of Karnataka education condition, as he did his LKG to 10th in Karnataka.

    Conclusion:

As long as he fulfills the 7-year education condition in Karnataka (LKG to 10th) and meets the other eligibility conditions, he should be eligible to appear for KCET 2025 .

It’s recommended to verify the eligibility criteria by checking the official KCET 2025 notification from KEA, as specific conditions might be updated.

For USMLE Step 1, exam dates are available anytime of the year or is there specific dates set

Tanya Gupta 27th Jan, 2025

The USMLE Step 1 exam is available throughout the year, with no specific dates set. Candidates can schedule their exam on any date within their eligibility period, which is a three-month window chosen during registration. Testing occurs at Prometric centers worldwide, but availability depends on location and demand, so early scheduling is recommended to secure your preferred date and center. Additionally, rescheduling is allowed, though fees may apply depending on how close the exam date is. It’s essential to plan well in advance to align the exam date with your preparation timeline and avoid last-minute stress.

I registered for gate 2025 exam under gen category not gen ews if after the results if i can produce the ews cert will they consider me as under the ews category?

kumardurgesh1802 27th Jan, 2025

Hello there,

No, if you registered for GATE 2025 under the General category , you cannot switch to the GEN-EWS category after the registration deadline. Your category at the time of registration will be considered final for result processing and admissions.

What You Can Do:

  • Contact GATE Authorities : If the application correction window is still open, you can update your category to GEN-EWS and upload the valid certificate.

  • Post-Result Scenario : Even if you produce an EWS certificate later, it will not change your category for GATE results or admissions.

It’s crucial to choose the correct category during registration and make changes within the correction period, if applicable.
